No atmosphere in ALS

In 2016.1, when there is something like BKN/// in the metar, the atmosphere disappears in ALS. There are no particles to scatter the light and the sky looks dark like on the moon.
Kind regards, Vincent

I believe I've fixed the issue with the forward slashes in metar sky condition (a.k.a. clouds) in 2016.2.0. Also forward slashes in weather phenomena (RA, SN, etc.).
Those slashes indicate a sensor temporarily offline at an AWOS station and were not being parsed by the simgear metar parser. The rest of the metar string was not being processed either, so when you see this bug in 2016.1, you'll probably notice the QNH/aloft pressure is wrong too.
Having said that, I never noticed dark sky with ALS when I was investigating and testing it.

Is 2016.2 in your package for Ubuntu?

I don't have a package for Ubuntu. 2016.2 is due for release next week and I would expect that whoever does the packaging would make a new PPA.

Just installed 2016.2.1 and (un)fortunately i encountered a metar with BKN/// again, causing the dark sky. So the issue is not solved in 2016.2.1.
Kind regards, Vincent

Onox... or sanhozay... or someone, cannot remember who, was supposed to fix that /// thing. Maybe it was just so the ATIS would work...
