Yeah, that was part of the ETOPS test I mentioned.. that wasn't on the first flight though.
The airplane purchasing scene had such a depressing music

Yes, the engine shut down on the first flight. Maybe it was episode 4. But I remember being quite startled.

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

Re: Boeing 737 Max
Yeah, it was in episode 4. They cycled the gear and shut down/ restarted an engine. That's one thing I didn't know. Thanks!
Re: Boeing 737 Max
Well, IMO this aircraft is more putting some new technologies and improvements onto a hopefully deprecated concept, sadly a problem with the big companies (almost no really new aircraft only very small touches).

Re: Boeing 737 Max
737 needs a new overhead panel, soon. Rest of cockpit (NG) is ok.
But it's the bwst seller basically, and is one of the best planes ever built.

Well, the other viewpoint is "don't need fixing if it ain't broke... "
In my experience, the 737-800s with the sky interiors were pretty darn good, as a passenger. And apparently pilots enjoy flying these planes too.
I think the only thing that's really biting hard at Boeing is the ground clearance for bigger engines, and related to that ground clearance, possibility of tailstrike, and as a result of that, needing a longer runway for takeoff and landing. So, it's biggest problem... ground clearance - a fundamental design issue. The cockpit was a bit cramped for the pilots as well, so a comfort factor is involved for the drivers..
Other than those, I seriously can't see too much differences as passengers between a 737 and A320. I give a slight edge to the Sky interior. (But my airbus interiors are limited to AirAsia ones.)

Re: Boeing 737 Max
I somehow missed this video by months... So I had my reservations about the MAX but it seems that whatever Boeing could milk out of it, they have done a pretty good job with it so far and kept it competitive. I like 737s and nostalgic part of me wants to see them continue flying, another practical part of me wants to see newer high tech all-new designs like 787.
