PIA661 crashes mountaineous terrain

Another air accident involving a plane meeting complex terrain. This time the plane explodes.

crew, reported the failure of the left hand engine (PW127E). The crew shut the engine down and continued towards Islamabad descending, some time later declared Mayday

So they descended on one engine, which should not be a problem. Then something else popped up prompting a mayday. That could be anything: Fire in the engine, other engine failure, wrong engine shut down, etc... I guess the answer must come from the boxes.

Hey how are you suposed to pronunciate the name of the airline: PIA or pakistan...?

The callsign is pronounced "Pakistan"

Yeah because the spanish news said a pakistani arline names PIA has crashed.

I was thinking I thpught it was pakistan not PIA

Did you notice, there is always this peak in accidents like that before Christmas? No idea why, but it feels that way.
