Vomiting on a plane...

Postby legoboyvdlp » Tue Nov 17, 2015 5:53 pm

Hey guys.
I read an article on how people should use their ticketed cabin lavatories.
Now let me tell you somethig.
I flew from Houston to Caracas in 2012, on United metal, on a redeye.
We had a Chinese meal before taking off.
Well, we hit a bout of turbulence about 50 minutes after the 1AM meal... which I didn't eat by the way. The smell remained in the cabin. Well, the smell and the Chinese food and the turbulence resulted in well, an explosion in my stomach.
I raced to the coach lav and threw up, then flushed.
We were in 6B,C,D, which is "business". No, we aren't rich. It is just wierd Vemezuela meaning business is cheaper than economy, and because we wanted extra luggage allowance.
So, did I do wrong in going to the coach one?
I might not have made it if I had gone to the business one...

It is not so much motion but a combination of an awful smell, chinese food (always seems to disagree -- will avoid Panda Express Concourse E in future), and a bit of turbulence which was the last straw.

I am rather baffled by people consistently returning to places where they go vomiting. My mother has a habit of doing it mostly in doggy bags. But sometimes she tries a napkin, with horrifying results for her face and her hair. Why do people repeatedly seek out torture like this?

Kind regards, Vincent

Well, you see, my family lives in the UK, and undoubtedly a boat would be worse for sicknesss.
But mostly I am fine. Just when I eat something spicy etc beforehand, and then hit a bad patch of turbulence, and my stomach decides it has had enough.

I typically feel sick before I even show up at the airport. My body does not like waking up before 9:30.
Once I just said screwit and stayed up all night to avoid it xD

That is so me too xD
I feel sick from I leave the house to I enter security. Nerves, and hoping no wierd aunt decides to kiss me. I hate people kissing me. Period.
:P
But typically fine on plane, depending on turbulence status :S

I hate redeye flights, you will find me to be the snob in the window looking down the cloud ceilings and trying to identify cities down the route. If only I were to have a map, a compass, and maybe a GPS device on board :)
Lately some aircrafts have a "flight map" in their entertainment device. I just get greedy. How about this displays the cockpit instruments, or some real feedback on real data too? :)

:) :) :)
Even better, how about letting the personal entertainment device turn into a device running FlightGear...complete with Saitek X52 and pedals at every seat?
