Hey,
Is the festival 2019 going ahead?

This time I hope we can have a bit of coordination like there used to be.

JMaverick says and I agree that the spirit of the festival is not really offering ATC at various locations as such but more like offering various events, flying, etc - where there can be ATC service as well if needed.

But that can be discussed later, what locations could we have next year for a start?

Maybe we could have three polls / proposals - on discord, fg forums, and here, with weighting 33% each?

Or just on the fg forums and here, since most people at discord have forum accounts - some in both places?

We were in Europe this time, how about doing South America?

Venezuela - Colombia maybe?

The Andes make for interesting scenery and approaches

Hi,

It seems that last week's Festival event didn't really succeed all that well, OPRF had a major event at the same time (which was by far our best ever event) which kind of detracted from the main event, since none of us were available to fly into Oslo. Unfortunately traffic levels were very low.

I think one of the main problems was that this event was not much coordination between the different platforms / forums. In fact, I'm sure very few users here were even aware of said event? That being said, hopefully by a little more advance notification the festival next spring (and fall) can be a bit more successful.

Location - are there any suggestions for location? Please go ahead and submit any The precedent is that the Spring candidate should be outside Europe while the Fall candidate should be within Europe. However, if a majority desire it, this can be reversed.

So far suggestions at either forum includes:
- Venezuela / Colombia: Andean airports
- California
- Korea
- Central Russia
- Tierra de Fuego: Southern Andes
- New Zealand
- Central America
- Carribbean Islands

It's not really finalized yet - but as far as I can see two polls will occur, one here and one over there with equal weighting, therefore allowing for a fair selection of candidates.

I think the poll should occur at the beginning of December to allow five months for scenery development if that's ok with everyone?

Date: 4th and 5th of May 2019 - it has been habitually the first weekend of May and the first weekend of November - are those dates ok with everyone?
