we are in sync SM
That's what I am thinking to do next.

More importantly will attempt at switching the default priorities to place lake above airports :D

It will take time to regenerate... but I'll try.

That is the perfect solution ;)

Somehow you make like if bikeriding is ezypiece,

Yeah this bike is not for the faint of heart, the Ducati 1100S can do over 150 mph. I've ridden bicycles and motos for years but most of my motorcycles were small bikes, less than 250 cc. My wife and I's only 'car' for 2 years was a Honda Supercub C100 I picked up at a garage sale for $50 bucks and rebuilt on our rear porch.

I'm really excited about what you and SHM are doing, if you haven't noticed. 8-)

I had tried a couple of tricks too generate the boundary with the whole.

No success,.... (frustated)

The racetrack is looking quite amazing so far... but when I succeed creating the whole in the airport boundary, so the internal shapefiles are used instead of "airports:" landclass, then the taxiways no longer follow the terrain and sink and resurface... which is rather useless.

Will reconstruct with your updated dat. And explore further options to achieve the boundary whole

In the meantime, I pushed a first constructed racetrack to terraGIT :D
So Lesbof and others can begin experimenting with this.

(will keep trying to carve that boundary hole!)
[as always we are pushing the boundaries....]

Can I make a request? I would like that the grey areas be land-classed as "sand' or 'beach' or whatecer is listed in the Australian default land classes for desert or beach sand. They're supposed to be bailing out areas for vehicles that have run off the track, soft sand to slow down the bikes/cars without hurting their operators badly.

no landclass. those are not landclasses, but instead apt.dat specifications.
but yes, we can modify them to be dirt on WED. Not a problem.

ok
I'll check what surface I can use that renders more sand-ish

I'll have to look at YPID again, but there are taxiways there that are pretty rough to drive over that look like they're supposedly 'rock' or 'gravel'. I am not sure what they represent but they have good friction and roughness co-efficiency for wheels. :?: Otherwise if sand can be used it would be perfect.

I kept it as dirt.

I remember a similar instance when I tried to put sand inside the airport boundary of VOTV, this was the case.

OK the track is much faster now... and I don't think camber will be necessary, as the traction, even on the sharpest curves, exceeds the abilities of this jaded old motorcyclist.

The dirt works well for slowing down vehicles. I would be nice to try out some height averaging using the surrounding terrain as the base I notice a lot of cuts and fills in the track's edges so I'm assuming you made the track with a pretty flat gradient?
