I think what you miss was not pulling, but updating the submodule., which is achieved by

I had corrected the OSM2City for the Kai-Tak airport
TerraGIT now features a complete OSM2City for the whole territory of Hong-Kong, but it excludes buildings on the closed Kai-Tak Rwy. So this means, that in FlightGear, this airport remains operational

The buildings are the newest OSM data. We are working on a custom landclass to come along with this. The current landclass are exactly the same as that seen in terrasync.
