IT-AUTOFLIGHT System

Postby Octal450 » Wed Jun 08, 2016 1:42 am

Here is the pack that contains the files, and instructions to install the IT AUTOFLIGHT system, which is an advanced, easy to integrate solution to planes with default or horrible autopilots. It is alot quite easy to customize.

I am sick of updating in each plane! Most updates are in autoflight.nas autoflight-logic.nas or autopilot.xml, which are all drag and drop to update, as long as you didn't modify them! This is a much better way to update the AUTOFLIGHT, instead of me pushing the update to each plane.

The package contains the subsystem (autoflight.nas) the logic (autoflight-logic.nas) the AP (autopilot.xml) and the default dialog (autopilot-dlg.xml) as well as the guide to install it.

Here is the guide. I moved the guide of here, since it may change.

EDIT: DOWNLOAD!

Re: Planes need an autopilot?

An autopilot is an autopilot. It should basically be the same in functionality for every plane. Unless fg core made a mistake in how they want planes to be built.

Kind regards, Vincent

No, that is not how autopilots work. They are completely contained in the plane. Except some values and properties and the generic helper thing. But my version flies much better, in features, its similar to 777.

My autopilot uses advanced logic, which makes it VERY stable, and can be hard disconnected. Changing one value, in this case ap_master, (which is normally manipulated automatically by ap_mastersw) will break all the relays that activate the AP, and then the AP sets back to 0.000000. 0.000000 is not a autopilot mode, so the FG flight control system releases the controls to the user even if the AP still thinks it's on. Works kind of the way elevator relay logic works. A lot of variables that are either 1 or 0, and based on which ones are 1 or 0, it chooses a mode to operate, and the logic file takes the one input from the MCP or dialog, and translates it into 5 or more relays. (either on or off). This works well for the altitude capture as well.

Download link now in first post, but if you are lazy click here.

Cheers. The guide is included in the README.md

Thx!
Sorry the L1011 was delayed, I really wanted to get 2.7.0 out before installing it, so I didn't need to update the files!

It0uchpods, I just added your dialog to the A340-200 and made the autothrottle button turn the autothrottle on and off.

One question.
I can turn the autothrottle on and off in the cockpit. The light works as normal. But whenever I have the autothrottle ON, turned on from the cockpit 3D model, and then open the dialog and turn the autothrottle OFF from the DIALOG, the autothrottle light stays ON, even though the autothrottle is OFF.
Ideas?

@legoboyvdlp
Why are you redoing my work? I added IT2 AUTOFLIGHT to the A340-200 over two weeks ago. I kept the A340s A/T (Shows how modular the system is) since it already includes some FADEC system.
