@ALL

After revisions, the specifications for this event has been updated. We will now search for a cruise of 185KT/15500 ft high, which better fit many of these good-old fighters.

For this reason, the en-route time is shortened, and the event commencing time is now updated: we'll begin at 1700 UTC.

See first post for details.

I don't think they are particularly easy. I have my favorites, but they do require you to get used to them.

Firstly, they all taildraggers, and they have large torque wash out. They'll kick you out of the runway with ease, both during take off as during landing.
The Zero (https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/A6M2) is a brutal amount of fun, yet it is not kind to the uninitiated. You'll need to tame it :D
Also, all its instruments are in metric, so be ready for a real "what on earth?" feeling on that cockpit

Secondly, I really enjoy the hellcat https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/F6F-Hellcat. It handles rather well.

Then there is the newest Wuerger by JWocky, which he is preparing for the event: https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/Wuerger-Jsb
I flew it this weekend. It handles great as well. An advantage over other of these type of crafts is that it can taxi with rudder (not only via differential braking), and thus you can use rudder to manage the prop-wash much better, at low speeds, or during the rolls.

There is also the p51d. A very advance, nicely developed aircraft of this kind. It ranks as difficult of flying. But it's just gorgeous, and beautifully coded. https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/p51d

Don't skip trying out a very beautiful aircraft: The Romanian Sucker: https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/IAR-80-JSB

If taildragging gives you the headache, I never tested the Moskito Fw ta154, but it is a tricycle: https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/Focke-Wulf-Ta.154

None of these are your tipical airliner. You will need to practice, and find the one that suits your need. There are several others available for FG. There's the spitfire, also the Fokker-G1 to cite a few more examples. Other pilots can tell you what they like themselves, too.

Best,

Itouchpads would probably find the Bell P -39 Airacobra easiest, as it's a trike gear and not overly powerfull, still fast enough.

Not sure if we have it in FGMEMBERS, but it's in Helijah's hangar certainly.

I've got it with my special doctored FDM that tames and accuratizes (sp?) the engine and autopilot. Same engine, Allison V1710, as the Curtiss P-40 and the Mustang P-51Mk1A.

me sad.

I've tried all the planes available. conclusion. I just don't have the hardware for this flight. I'll come anyway but I won't be in a groundlooper, mostlikely in a dhc8 or something.

so that's my confirm. looking forward to seeing you loop it.
