@Lydiot I will do my best to answer.

1) And FSX's sound came first without a doubt. FSX was released sometime near 2006. Patten's CitX was most likely released sometime around 2015/2016.
2) I do not know how Microsoft got their sounds.

So in other words "CitX" is a "Citation X", right? I have one downloaded, but I can't find the audio file you're mentioning. I take it this is a different model then...(?)

ps; i agree that the waveforms look essentially identical.

And you will see gen_start.wav and gen.wav. You most likely have an old version of the Citation X before Patten's upgrades.

are not the ones we're talking about then, correct?

I am not sure Lydiot. Probably not.
The updates by Patten never made it to FGAddon AFAIK.

Patten updates introduced those, but only checking over the official one would know.
Now, when I updated the sounds for FL2070 package, these files stopped being used, so I am just discarding them, and really nothing changes on the plane itself

Thanks for reporting the issue.
Those files were not even being used at all (mostly your sound package on the Citation X right now)

The files are now removed from the sources with this commit

Yeah so do I I steal som wav sound form the 777 and put it to FG it sound a bit better but of course only privately use. And I paid for it.
