Back from holidays, time to return to a keyboard and mouse for FG, i want to present the EGBB (Birmingham airport) terminal, during the next week i pretend to texturize it:

Later i will do some more (smaller) buildings in EGBB, populate it with some shared objects and look forward what to do on other airports for the festival in november :)

I have an object: Image
I also have a texture: Image

and when I have the texture on the material and texture bla, bla bla...
I switch to UV mode and I get the new screen(blender) this new screen I select the texture .png and then I select one by one the part of the terminal that diserve that texture then I click U and Unwrap all this part appear in the photo BUT the photo is ten times bigger.

Questions:

What does Unwrap do?
And why do or how can I make the parts fit on the foto correctly??

it's UVmap
it applies a texture to an 3D object.

Sad I only know this in AC3D no blender!

uvmapping in blender is not that hard.
I can guide you through, or unstuck you if you get troubled.

But try following this:

Notes: No need to render. Once the UVMap is both created and applied to the texture (linked to a given material). your work in blender is don. The rendering is done by FG. (unless you want to bake complex textures or lightmaps and more complex stuff... but you are better off getting comfortable with basic texturing first)
