[Poll] Make a DC-9-50?

Postby Octal450 » Tue Oct 04, 2016 4:50 pm

So someone asked me in other forum if I should make a DC-9. I would make the DC-9-50 first.

Here is what would be involved:
Use the MD-88 package's MD-82 systems.
Use the MD-88 package's MD-82 non-retrofit cockpit, and modify for DC-9.
Shrink the MD-87 fuselage further down to DC-9-50.
Model a new glare shield panel with DC-9 stuff.
Model a new autopilot panel on the pedestal DC-9 style.

Should I do it? If so, when?
Poll runs for 30 days. I will evaluate the decision when the 30days are finish.

I think it is not necessary, as you already did the md82 with the steam gauges. I would be much more interested to see another model done, like the 737-100 or 200. These planes can use an upgraded cockpit and fdm.

Kind regards, Vincent

Yeah.
But the DC-9 and MD-80 can share alot of systems, and so on, so it wouldn't be alot of work. Maintaining a whole separate model takes alot more work, and requires fully seperate systems. Since the file systems of the DC-9 would match the MD-80, I can drag and drop new systems in, then define them in the -set file and done. Same with more overhead work.

Please vote in the poll, that will be my ultimate decision point.

Yes, but I can't fit my flightdeck into it, due to the shape of the front mesh.

No-one wants to vote? :( :(

I can not vote twice, can i? :-)

I understand the thought about ease with the almost same model. So we'll see what the vote brings.

Just to bring maybe some others on ideas, i have not seen legendary British models in fg, like the monster Trident and the elegant VC-10.

Kind regards, Vincent

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

@KL-666
Hard to do planes you don't have a lot of infos about. Maybe that's why?

@IAHM-COL
Oh lol. Forgot I have to push the button.
