Hi All,
I want to plan a UK+Ireland Festival Fall 2016 mini-event, and I am posting here to invite the community to join me in company.

Glasgow airport (EGPF) originally was a RAF airbase formerly known as "Abbotsinch Airport"

On 11 August 1943 Abbotsinch was handed over solely to the Royal Navy and it became a naval base. All Her Majesty's Ships and naval bases are given ship names and Abbotsinch's was known as HMS Sanderling since June 1940

This Sunday afternoon, in the eve of the Festival I want to complete a flight to FGUK's home base EGOD. They have really nice scenery there with animated hangars



Departing from Glasgow, Scotland at 15:30 UTC, and flying around 305 Kts @ FL220(about 45 min en route). Bring any aircraft capable of maintain cruising conditions. I will operate the RAF Super KingAir 350

I remember eGOD participants not appreciating visitors from Hell. They only like to annoy others in London. No one is allowed to hurt their silly little base. So i do not really see the point of trying to reach their little heaven.

Anyone is free to use EGOD[1] as FGUK welcomes visitors, anyone can come on the Flight Nights - but generally FGUK do not appreciate ATC jumping in and attempting to control flights - especially on a Flight Night when it is the flight leader that is in charge flying under VFR rules.

ATC over MP chat requires typing and is not really workable in an aeroplane unless you're using autopilot - and pretty much never when flying a deathtrap[2]

This remark about visiting EGOD did not strike me as welcoming at all.

Well, I don't think it's a nice idea honestly... (....)
Anyway, I'd say that before you try to do that, send them and advice about it.

And what do they need to be advised for? They do not advise anyone when they jump ATC in London. In august they knew they are going to seek out potential conflict. Did they have the courtesy to advise the festival? No. Just one week before the festival i had to find out by accident on another forum.

People who demand all sorts of courtesies from others and who themselves feel entitled to do as they like, are generally not much fun to spend my spare time with. Their double standards may pop up at any time about anything. So chances are that i'll have more fun outside their cage.
