Talking About UK+Ireland 2016

Rarely used, but when the weather conditions push like that, they do

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

Only with small planes.
Re: Talking About UK+Ireland 2016
yup. it is indeed a rare choice for a even more unusual wind situation in EGPH . There, landings 30 are usually facing cross-winds.
The preferred rwy being 24., which we didn't get to use at all on the festival

Re: Talking About UK+Ireland 2016
Well ATC decides which rw is in use, and i just land there. Btw, the weak x-wind of just 7 kts on rw 06-24 is not interesting at all. Then the lack of ils on rw 30 is much more interesting.

I don't see how.
Nowhere does it say you are forced to see use the ILS, and did you read my ATIS? "Arrivals expect ILS Approach runway 28 Approach, visual approach runway 34 available on request"
Why you did not choose that then?????????
I'll keep that in mind the next time I ATC, KL-666 gets a visual approach if wind are better there.

Sorry, i did not catch the choice to go to 34. But also the x-wind on 28 was slightly more interesting, some 17 kts.
Yet my favourite x-wind is 30-40 kts. Such can be realized at Keflavik, when the weather is right. Crossed rw's, so you can always choose the most x-wind on landing.
Kind regards, Vincent

First off, much thanks to IHAM-COL for the warm and kind compliments. I admit that this is actually my first time being a official APPROACH ATC, I could have done better with less mistakes and errors. It was very nerve-wrecking for me as I controlled my first 2 planes at the same time, but as time progress, I got the hang of it..
Big apologies to D-ECHO for sending you off for a very long and big missed approach
Manchester may not be a very popular place for you guys to visit, but it is a very good learning experience for me, and I could not have asked for any thing better.
