I stand corrected. VATSIM does have worldwide coverage. It was my error not to check their website first. I regret the mistake.

Vatsim Spain if you want a document of fraseology, they give you the document 4444 with english and spanish translation.
So then the ATM is not invented by VATSIM.

Once again, where are the FG rules?

Vincent the reason why I gave a one line sentence is because I'd to go to college (8am).

Now its lunch break so I will elaborate.

You told that VATSIM follows a universal form of ATC phraseology all over the world,
KL-666 wrote:That happened when the senile old men playing vatsim decided the whole world says fl twohundred, where everyone knows in real life europeans say fl two-zero-zero.

which is not the case.
As Oscar has mentioned :

Also Skyboat also mentioned it right now

When you fly in Spain the odd even altitude rule is changed in RL, which also applies in VATSIM. Like that VATSIM follows what is done in each country and trains the new ATCs with that.

Sadly you're wrong again.
Flightgear and VATSIM can be connected.

The pilots In FG is too low, if you check the VATSIM map you'll find about 1000 pilots or even more.

By following the "young pilots" you get the latest practice in the current aviation world otherwise it wouldn't be updated with the current scenario and we would be flying old procedures.

Same thing happened once at jomo when I said I would like to fly a SID, and he said its not that. When I asked what is it then, he gave the older version..

VATSIM follows the current AIRAC.

No matter how new charts are, it is still a game. Not the real thing, but mimicking the real thing.

In a game it does not matter how old things are. As long as everyone plays on the same board by the same rules.

Decades ago we had a Monopoly game with a biggest note of 500 (money was worth a lot more back then). Now we have a maximum note of 50.000. When we are to play Monopoly, and i get the old box with the 500 notes from the attic, are you going to say you can't play it because it is not real, and that only the game with the 50.000 notes is real? I do not think you will say that. The games from both boxes are equally well playable, as long as we both play from the same box.

Kind regards, Vincent

And that is why I say VATSIM is closest to RL. (Not just in terms of the AIRAC followed).

Hi SHM,

There are different aspects to flying, yet i hear you only emphasizing procedures as being real. What about controlling the plane? I have seen the guys who emphasize how realistic they follow the magenta line. They fly a perfect star, only to touchdown nose gear first, halfway the runway and racing off it with the slightest x-wind. Then i think by myself: So much for reality...

Vatsim is maybe closest to reality in the procedures game, but not in the controlling the aircraft game. You are allowed to fly on vatsim, yet you are unable to control the plane sufficiently to make your hands free when flying manual. Other people like me can easily do that. We play the game of controlling the aircraft as real as possible.

So all in all i see between us a difference in which aspect of the game we like to emphasize to make as real as possible. It is impossible to say that your emphasis on procedures is more real than my emphasis on controlling the plane, and vice versa.

Btw. How real is it to ignore ATC instructions? I mean, is that a standard way of doing in vatsim?

Kind regards, Vincent
