At the moment, I make FL330 by pressure altimeter on 29.92. Which is of course all the time something between FL310 and FL315 by radar, thanks to the messed up pressure system. Now for the secrets of the fuel system.

About other planes, in case alternatives are needed. I found an Il-96-400. Not that bad but the AP is brain dead. The DC-8-73 could theoretically do it but the FG version sucks fuel as if there is not tomorrow. So this will be probably a Boeing and Airbus day unless someone takes a Concorde out for a spin.

If I recall correctly, Cold Bay is where J. Maverick landed during his participation on the last leg of the USA tour(?)

I was pointing there, but because of not enough time I diverted to a known airport which is Kodiak (PADQ) which has 3 rwys enough long to let me land easily (depending on which of the 3 you want to approach at, there's a very tricky one) and was much closer to my position (about 1/2 hr).

EDIT: @Jwocky: Why not switching to the "healthier" alternative? C-137R can make it up to FL420 if properly configured and flown (done it myself), and it should make it IRL (the real 707...).

Now I found, the 707 doesn't use the center tank, even with all fuel pumps on and all crossfeed-valves open. So, she isn't making the range unless I find the problem. Duuh, I want one time a simple flight where I can just take a plane and lfy.
