This seems a general issue in all canvas ND's. When an ILS freq is selected in NAV1, a green arrow to the ILS is shown too. AFAIK this should not be the case. An ILS does not give you a green arrow, but only a localizer and a glide slope. If a pilot wants an arrow to the rw, then IRL the NDB before the rw is used. Of course, when a VOR freq is entered in NAV1, then a green arrow should appear towards that VOR. But again, this should not happen towards the ILS.
Kind regards, Vincent
ILS issue in Navigation Display
Re: ILS issue in Navigation Display
Modern airliners generally separate ILS from VOR radios frequency wise, even though there are only 2 actual receives, the computer decides which to use (AFAIK). As far as I know, at this point in time, my A320 is the only aircraft with this implemented to both the radios, and the Nav Displays. When I eventually make an FMS for the Gabriel 738, it will be fitted with this same type of system.
