another question, still on tail rotor
Do you get to the point where you run out of anti-torque peddle and as such can only turn in one direction, going with the rotor torque ?

Good question. It is called as "loss of tail rotor efectiveness".
It happens in high grossweight conditions, high rightside crosswind, other any high demand of power conditions.

I would have assumed high leftside crosswind with vortex ringstate setting in on the tail rotor
[edit]... yes high rightside crosswind will effect the advance ratio of the tail rotor prop reducing it's effectiveness. So I suspect both exist and maybe the right side is more of an issue due to the tail rotor being designed to be most effective at low rotational velocity, ie not yawing

If I recall correctly, bomber is a design engineer. So just you are on the right path.

Another question on your set up.
Is your joystick capable of being a twisty ?
If so could you do me the favour of disconnecting your peddles and flying all the different types of helicopter flight models, not just mine.
I'd like you to do this, if you can so as you have a clear understanding of the requirements of flying a helicopter with a twisty.

I dont have a twisty joystick, sorry.
For easy use with twisty joysticks, enabling auto-rudder would be a good solution.

ok no worries.... I think I'm going to have to enable some auto rudder control for twisties, otherwise I won't even be able to test it.
