And here is something, I found today on Yahoo, but it refers to some official statements from Egypt as it appears

http://news.yahoo.com/egypt-no-sign-yet-terrorist-act-russian-plane-092055346.html

The Epyptians say, they have no hint on foul play. Now, of course, for Egypt. it's better if it wasn't terrorism and instead bad maintenace on the Russian end- For the Russians, claiming it was a terror attack, it is of course better, it would be a terror attack instead of sloppy maintenance. So my guess is, we have to wait to the final report because France and Ireland both involved in the investigation have nothing to win or to lose and thus, we will get finally something one can consider as trustworthy.

We can forget about what all other countries have been yelling about bombs, they have no evidence, only guesswork based on intelligence that some people may want to place a bomb somewhere soon and that Sharm Airport has a bad safety screening. That is not evidence of there being a bomb on this specific plane.

The Russians say that they have the hard evidence of bomb residue. Fine, then they have to share the evidence with the investigation team to get it included in the report. Just making a dramatic film where Putin is supposedly told for the first time is definitely not enough to be included in the report.

The investigation team itself has not found any evidence for a bomb yet. Which is at odds with the Russian findings. If Russia has found evidence, there must be more on the wreckage.

Now, what is the most fishy part here? The Russians not sharing their evidence with the investigation team.

Indeed, in the final report this issue should be cleared up.

Kind regards, Vincent

Well, for the Russians the motive to calim it was terrorism is clear:
- they wanted to have an excuse to jump in hard on Syria and the rebels and a terror act for which ISIS took repsonsibility, whether it's true or not, gave them justification.
- they don't want to tell the world about mainentance and repair problems in their air lines. It is not the first time, Russian planes are in incidents for bad maintenance. Thst is a reputation, they want to get rid off and they can't if their planes fall out of the sky for exactly that reason.

For the Egyptians, things are less clear. Some claim, the Egyptians live from tourism and to a degree it is true, but then tourism in Egypt is anyway lower because of their terrorist problems and those terrorists have affiliated themselves with ISIS. So if tourism would be their motivation to make any claims, it would be a claim it was a terror attack.
Now, one has probably also to understand the Egyptian relationship with planes. The government run airline, Egypt Air is such an example. I had the dubious pleasure to fly in some of their planes on flights in Egypt but not in the last few years. Those planes were old, the seat cushions were worn out, to open an overhead bin, you had sometimes to pull on the handle like a horse, they had instead of a door a curtian to the cockpit and didn't bother to close even that and I remeber at least one instance where the pilot switched on the "stop smoking" light before he lighted his big fat cigar. Then he was obviously ready for taxiing (we were standing on the field not at a jetway). However, the engines were obviously well maintained. They had basically the push of brand new ones and since a lot of their pilots seem to be former military pilots, they let you feel a little what they can do. Normally, if a plane is not well maintained, you see a lot of duct tape and the engines don't bring full power anymore. There ... not much duct tape and a lot of power even on thirty and more years old 737s. That's because Egyptians rely on their domestic flights. Their country is technically a long stripe following the Nile. To get from one end to the other, they simply need their planes.
So my guess is, they really have nothing pointing to terrorism and because planes are so important to them, they probably didn't even come to the idea, this tragedy could be used for political games. Not that they are immune to politics, but planes falling out of the sky and ferry ship disasters are two things that hit so near to home for them.
