Re: Autopilot doesn't care?
It's not quite as simple as that. With a PID controller, Kp, Ki and Td all affect how the output responds to the input and each mode of the autopilot may have multiple filters and controllers chained together. For the controller you are looking at (heading error -> roll), you probably don't even nee...

Re: Autopilot doesn't care?
The article in the Flightgear Wiki is a really good tutorial guide: http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php?title=Howto:Design_an_autopilot Most PID controllers in Flightgear only make use of the Kp, Ki, u_min and u_max elements. The others can be removed from the config section so that it uses the def...

Re: Autopilot doesn't care?
The rule of thumb for getting out of a turn is usually to start rolling level at half the bank angle. In your case, the bank angle is 20 degrees, so you'd start rolling level at 10 degrees from your target heading. With a Kp of -1.0 in your first controller, you are rolling out early (at 20 degrees)...

Re: Borders of the EU
To be pedantic, Norway (EN) and Iceland (BI) are not members of the European Union and Cyprus is the most south easterly EU country.

Re: Taking Splash Screens to a Whole New Level!
speaking of a simplicity ... this is G-SHOZ splash for his new puppy-flier  I like simplicity but the truth is that I had to take the non-GPL photos of real aircraft off my test splash screens before they went to FGADDON. Beagle stood for (B)ritish (E)xecutive (A)nd (G)enera(L) Aviation ... a ...

Beagle Pup Development [crossposted]
I thought it was about time I tried to make an aeroplane. So, ladies and gentlemen, I offer you the Beagle Pup: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2838854/Pictures/fgfs-screen-220.png It is still in early development, and there is much to do, but it is pleasantly flyable. Re: Unexisting airports or default single-runway layouts
Beijhing, one of the world's busiest airports, is a parallel taxiway IIRC. I did a JAFVA flight from India.

Now that I think about it, wasn't there an airport in Delhi that didn't even exist? VIDP perhaps?

Re: As the poll for FG Festival Spring Festival 2016 comes close
I know the UK and Ireland airways and airports pretty well and there's no reason to be concerned from either side IMO if there were to be a UK-based "ATC types" event during the festival. The nearest commercial airports are Dublin and Liverpool John Lennon and airways go north or south of ...
