the problem in view.nas was there. Showing alive in 3.7. It is not corrected, AFAICT
The changes I made to the source made the warn go away. So ... yeah! now everything is good. Lesbof posts his improved FDM and we have another fixed cute acrobatic plane.
Develop the old SU-26 further?

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

Re: Develop the old the SU-26 further?
OK, a list of what improvements I've done with the SU26..
FDM-side: New Lift and Drag data tables, propeller thrust and power tables,
re-aligned the 'X'- axis positioning to match a sanely designed aircraft.
fixed the <retractable> code,
additional engine data, fixed coding for propeller look up tables, and set engine reduction gearing and RPM to propeller.
Model/3D side: set new double sided propeller blur transparency,
fixed the animation x axis <offsets> to coincide with changes made to the position in 'X' axis to the FDM
corrected the propeller rotation which is turning CW from pilots view, (right handed) to left handed, with new mirrored prop 3D with texturing.
To do: Find a decent pilot figure,
create a better interior texture atlas, with better transparencies for the instrument's needles,..
and maybe find a true Cryllic textured RPM gauge that reads in actual rpm instead of % of 100% rpm scaling.
Fix the canopy so it opens and closes,
add a SU-25m-Menu with selections for Liveries and other PUI accessed features.
fine tune the FDM to make stall breaks more abrupt and realistic.

Re: Develop the old the SU-26 further?
I think you could have at least look at the FGMEMBERS'
the cockpit and interior don't look that bad
The livery selection menu is there
Maybe I wonder about the FDM itself
It seems you may be fixing a older model. Had you consider that? Had you consider downloading the current FGMEMBERS' version? Maybe you can avoid duplicating work? Like in fixing the livery menu -- that is already working just fine. And the retractable code: That was just correct in FGMEMBERS' too.
Just a suggestion.
Many of the todo fixes about are still being needed.

Re: Develop the old the SU-26 further?
OK at the time it was the only version of the SU-26m I could find..
So yeah I'm dealing with an extremely early version of Enrique's plane. Not sure how much of my changes are going to need to be fixed into the FGMEMBERS repo when I upload this. I may end up breaking a lot of the new coding when I do the change.
And the RPM gauge hasn't changed any, I'd really like to know what my real engine rpm is.
Sort of damned if I do or don't.

Re: Develop the old the SU-26 further?
Ok.
My suggestion is
Lets get your changes first. Then I we compare differences. Choose the correct version between differences.
Decide the most advance state, and continue from there on?
That sound to me like the better approach.
Alternatively, you can improve the old version you have, and when its better, we just create a new branch in the repo.
(that's less convenient in my opinion, but it is your call!)

@Lester
Did I miss your link?
I thought we were trying to find the best state for you to continue working on top of.

Re: Develop the old SU-26 further?
Too many kettles on the boil, sorry , Did you say you want it now? I was going to pick out the best features of both, merge them and then upload it.
Does that work for you?
