Wow SOFIA comes to NZ sometimes, she stays at Christchurch and flies around antartica i believe, well there is a NASA 747 thatches down here in the summer every year, might not be Sofia but it does have a large camera up her bottom ;)

Can you animate the door so people can fly with the option of having an open or closed fuselage?

Now I've added the characteristic concave in the tail section and the wings. Also made a new Vstab and undercarriage. What's missing: main gear, spoilers, flaps, ailerons, and some other stuff. When that's in place I'll UV-map the 747SP.

Cockpit development has started, an EFIS cockpit for the SOFIA model and a Steam gauge one for the regular. Just like real life :)

Yes, you're right it0uchpods, SOFIA had an EFIS cockpit upgrade back in 2012. Before it had just a gauge cockpit just like all other 747SP's.

Edit: For the 747SP you could use the 747-200 cockpit model, it will fit perfect you only need to adjust some things.

I could, but it is rubbish, I might use the one from the 747-400 or 747-8i and adjust it.

I've already looked at the 747-400 cockpit, and I think you could use components except the cockpit shell. I think we have to make a new one.
