viewtopic.php?f=54&t=1361I've almost completed the flight model/flight control system... I'm quite prepared to pair it with an existing helicopter such as the AH-1 Cobra as it's of a similar size and shape....
But if anyone does wish to create a 3d exterior / Cobra style interior then I think we can have some fun....
Regards
Simon

I'm going to now convert it into an Outerra version and see what they think of it....
It's taken nearly 8 months, a lot of learning along the way, but been a good puzzle to solve.
It was interesting to see the latest flamefest over an individual on the FG forum recently. When I started this fdm he offered me a 3d model of the Scorpion but for what seems like I didn't drop my work and concentrate on his straight away he withdrew my right to use it.... in quite a colourfull way, quite frankly I didn't appreciate that certain words could be put together in that certain way.
So from the ground up to create a new approach to modeling helicopters in JSbSim, 8 months... that's not bad considering it took me 6 years for the fixed wing tail dragger.
Hoping the next adventure, be it bird flight, submarine or America's cup yacht takes me only 8 weeks... but where's the fun in that

I'm starting to reimagine a python-based jsbsim editor for FG planes.
How about that for a collaborative adventure?
My main problem here is I am my 8years behind a first working fixed-wing plane that does not behave as a brick when launched to FG to fly!

Hi Bomber
1) I couldnt launch it, it says: Illegal argument

If its any help, I am on Flightgear-git,
2) Can I host this on FGMEMBERS-NONGPL with the AH-1 there?

I'm up for anything collaborative if it leads towards making the creation of realistic flight models more intuitive and quicker. I've not found anyone in FG so far that has wanted that, over lording with "Look how clever I am, I can create a flight model of this and it hits all the numbers'.... as Mitchell would say that's all balls.
I can't imagine what a python based jsbsim editor would look like.

What version of FG are you running ?
the last two errors are the ones I've never seen before... don't worry about the others they're inconsequential.
Yeh sure you can put it on FGmember site

I only can imagine it. A different topic. make it.
But the first thing that is coming to mind is I wanted it to be able to simulate something like a wind tunnel system, where the momentus are zero, but the forces are outputted, and can be read, and have a way to change parameters and reload the JSBsim, so one can see the effects on the forces.
Me thinking outloud, sorry if it makes zero momentum-sense
