Aerostar-700

I'm sure just about everyone here is aware that Patten has been taking some FG aircraft to the next level. I recently downloaded his version of the Aerostar-700 and have been impressed with how realistic it is. It's a real pleasure to fly, especially if you are wanting to get a more realistic prop-driven experience.
I'm new at adding/modding things in this community, and because of this I'm hesitant to know the right/best/proper way of doing this....
The current version of the Aerostar-700 in FGMEMBERS is the Syd Adams version. It's good, but as I said above, Patten has taken it to the next level. It is the same Syd Adams code, with Patten's touches added.
QUESTION: Am I allowed to add the Patten version to Github? Or do I merge it with the Syd Adams version? Or what's the best way to do this? Or do I just walk away with a smile and be happy?
I also have created a paintkit and want to add some new, accurate liveries to it.
Thanks in advance, and thanks for being patient with this newb.
