I've got a small backlog of project aircraft from my previous simming developments, and from FS-WWI that are planned for future release.

This one is close to being prototyped once the textures get straightened out.

And there's a long suffering early Albatros D.II that's been getting it's interior up to the Albatros D.III's level of detail.

Ray had asked for a Jenny in WWI US Army-Air corps colors. I'm trying out the add-on textures from FS-WWI for their Jenny on Helijah's Curtiss JN-4.

Doesn't look too bad actually.. Image

Actually, that looks pretty good ... I think, I have still an old 850hp BMW engine somewhere on the scrap yard, want to build it in?

Sure, the beemer radial could swing a big 4 blade wood prop, and probably idles at the same power level as the Curtiss engine runs full throttle at.

I kind of want to build a detailed OX-5 for it with all the fiddly brass bright-bits, and animated rocker arms and such.

I was going that route with the Salmson P-9 on the Voisin La3, I built all the rocker arm bits and they just need someone obsessive enough to work out the timing, pivot angles, and write a few hundred lines of animation coding.

Allegedly I' m glutton for punishment, but that's too much, even for me, sorry! That must be what, 200 moving parts?

In my pre-caffienated fog, I'm looking at that engine, the ghost of Carl Sagan rises in my imagination and moans, "Billions and Billions..".

Never actually counted the parts, probably over 81 individual bits, 9 cylinders times about 9 or more moving pieces, plus working out the angles of the pivots in rads to X and Y.

That engine is far bigger in megabytes than the airframe's 3D file size is. A fully detailed out OX-5 would be killer, but yeah I'm not doing it very soon.
