Anything about Soitanen's changes on the FDM. He is not on this forum, so there is lately no contact. Last stand was, he declared everything I made as wrong, changed the math points (admittedly for the more realistic) and left me with a plane wobbling and whale tailing through approaches. Does anybody know whether he is still working on it?
And shouldn't we move the 727 to the Aircraft Development forum. It's a serious business.

@J.
Ok. I moved this topic to the most appropriate area of Aircraft development.
I think Soitanen changes were great! Fine tuning is always needed... so it does not surprise me.
Last think I knew: He was still working on it. I don't know where does he stand after all the turmoil.
Hopefully it does not change his willingness to contribute, as it did not change he is very knowledgful in FDM tuning.
I will email kraft2001 later tonight, and tell him about the endless possibilities in 3d modelling in several of our projects,

Yeah, but since I am not over there and Soitanen is not here, how would we know what is going on? It's now weeks since the 727 flew correctly an ILS after those changes and I don't know is he working on it or did he abandon it because of the turmoil.

Okay, if I find enough of my remaining brain matter, I maybe pull her fresh and take her for a spin in the KPHX test area (working ILS there). Lets see, what I find.

Okay, I did a little work on it, but as of yet, I did the changes only on the -230ADV, so it has to be done for the other versions as well. On the other hand, I would rather like to get one done and then just copy the changes into the other models in one big action, that saves work.
- moved instruments around (the issue of the guy who crept behind the panel)
- autopilot update (since the 727 is not directly connected to JPack, she misses out on bug corrections form there)
- a little better balance under AP control
- pushback works on the -230ADV
- -230ADV specific wingspan reset (the ADVs have winglets, that added 2ft total to the wingspan)
- wing area back to 1650 sqft (Soitanen changed to 1560 sqft because of one Boeing documentation, but all other documents I can find speak of 1650, so ... well).
- contrails
- wing-trails
bottom-line: She flies again with reasonable stability
