In my experience, the 737-800s with the sky interiors were pretty darn good, as a passenger. And apparently pilots enjoy flying these planes too.
I think the only thing that's really biting hard at Boeing is the ground clearance for bigger engines, and related to that ground clearance, possibility of tailstrike, and as a result of that, needing a longer runway for takeoff and landing. So, it's biggest problem... ground clearance - a fundamental design issue. The cockpit was a bit cramped for the pilots as well, so a comfort factor is involved for the drivers..
Other than those, I seriously can't see too much differences as passengers between a 737 and A320. I give a slight edge to the Sky interior. (But my airbus interiors are limited to AirAsia ones.)
