lol
And may I note that the 777 will NOT allow the pilot to stall it? It will limit elevator deflection despite full pulling on the yoke... see the FBW video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9FSC0r2hi4) at 36:00.
Kind Regards,
Josh

it0uchpods wrote:Sorry, but you are incorrect. The 777's FlyByWire works exactly the same.
So let me explain what FlyByWire actually means:
Control inputs go to computers, which go to the hydraulic actuators on the flight surfaces.
The Airbus' Flight Control Laws, however, are different from Boeing.
Thanks for that enlightening insight. The fanboys deliberately talk only about the wiring and hollow computers, in order to be able to keep up the myth that both systems are equal. I speak about the complete system, including the software.
The software is by design completely different. Boeing: the pilot is the boss. Airbus: the software is the boss. If you really understood the Boeing software, you would know that it consists of not much more than some soft-protections and trim-for-speed. It is not designed to make decisions and go berserk like in this topic's incident.
The result for decision making on the flight deck is completely different. Which pilot would react faster? The one who only has to push through the soft-protection, or the one who has to stand up to pull some circuit breakers first.

I would very much like so. But as long as the fanboys keep spreading nonsense about the equality of both systems, i'll have to correct them.
Kind regards, Vincent

1. I'm not a fanboy.
2. If you read what it0uchpods said, the 777 and 787 will not let the pilot stall it, ie: the same protection as the airbus has.
3. Please just go to wikipedia, and read the info before you comment. K thx

Stop embarrassing
The boeing crew can override flight envelope limits using excessive force on the flight controls.

Re: When 'psycho' automation left this pilot powerless
It becomes clear now where you guys get the nonsense from: video games (the youtube film) and the o so trustworthy wiki written by people like you.
Now, for the 777 FCOM: There is no AoA protection. What does exist is that the trim-for-speed will not let you trim below a certain speed. So if you are unable to pull the plane into a stall, you are simply out of trim to stall the plane. Is this clear enough now? Else go and reed FCOMs yourself.
Kind regards, Vincent
(The edit is: adding 777 to avoid confusion)

Re: When 'psycho' automation left this pilot powerless
Not sure where I should find an airbus in video games, but yes, I have read both the FCOM's of the A320, A330. And about a year ago did read the 777 and 787 FCOM.

Not sure what you are saying.
In normal law, a 777 WILL NOT stall, the FBW limits the elevators. The pilot can pull the yoke all back, and it won't stall.
However, should the pilot switch off the PFCs on the OH, then revision to direct law will happen.
Kind Regards,
Josh

Hey, how we arm some of those birds and let OPRF just testing it out?

Well, part of the IDG-A33X is used in OPRF (both MRTT versions).
