OSM will be a separate download. For exact reasons of performance.

Anyway, is this (osm2city) gonna be in Terrasync or a separate download?

Ok. Simbambin

A few points

1. yes, FG is really sensitive to graphic card issues. Even a decent computer can be brought to its knees if the graphic card is not good for the 3d stuff

2. The geneve buildings are made with low performance computers in mind (except the OSM)

3. I speculate that your fps will not move further down with the buildings. but we can get you to test it. I can email you a test version if you wish (a pre-release) :)
let me know

4. If you find the new buildings kill you, let me know. I'll teach you how to have your own building-less scenery, so you don't suffer terrasync's buildings in case this gives you a big shot down.

That is cool, IAHM, but like simbam, I have low fps, already, with eg the 757.
I will try to fly, anyway.
It is really the roads which kill fps, did you add OSM roads?
I had 1fps, after removing osm2city at VHXX, removing roads fixed it, retaining the terminal, layout, and lights.

I just cannot wait to fly in Paris at 40FPS, on a megaPC.
Whatever else I do later in life is not fixed, but I know I WILL have a mega-computer, just for flight simming.
Those are long term by the way.
Like, 20 years from now.
Dreams....

well lego

I had optimized the OSM2city result quite a lot.
In my system, now I am seeing a very small change of performance with or without the OSM buildings... so I feel I am in the right track to make this Geneve OSM2city flyable in all "computer specs" conditions.

@Simbambin,
Knowing that you have already a 7fps in your computer at geneve, I will be VERY interested in knowing before hand how would your computer perform with the whole package.
Because I am beginning to speculate that your system will not bend down any further, which would be an enormous gain, and this would represent the most comprehensive scenery your computer could play out without noticing the typical performance drop associated with the high developed areas.

Would you mind helping me out?

That is good, IAHM :)
So, will see about downloading the package, if it is in the festival github?

This is nice because Geneva is one of the first European Airports I spent a lot of time flying to and from when I first started using FlightGear back in 2010.
