Andersen Airforce Base (PGUA)

Hi All,

The Andersen Airforce Base, located in Hagatna, in the U.S. territory of Guam was prepared in order to permit nocturnal operations for the USA Tour leg that arrived to Alaska, departing Guam.

Those days, PGUA featured a very simple double-default runway which was significantly different from what can be seen at Satt views

Given that the Tour was departing at around 1AM local time in Guam, I found myself in need to create my second WED layout (after SKRG's); that made night operations possible.

The layout was completed with a good amount of detail based both on FAA charts and other open sat views obtained in USGS explorer, and the scenery was created. Nowadays, this scenery is fully featured in the gateway, and can also be found in terrasync :P

A few military aircraft static models were created, starting from their FG Aircraft counterparts, and placed in some of the circular aprons that are very typical of this airbase.

These static models had never been uploaded to terrasync, so in order to obtain these you must obtain the custom scenery package repository indicated above.

J Maverick 16 got interested in this scenery and he created a few more structure with some shared models, which encouraged me to create an additional static object seen here:

So... if you plan to visit the far pacific territories, you may want to pay a visit to Andersen AFB in Guam ;)

Enjoy

I'm going to make a major 3D development in the following days to prepare for the OpRedFlag Crew arrival and temporary resting before heading to Kadena AB (which needs some devel, need to find someone who can do it) for the FGFestival.
Do you mind if I send you a download link for the objects and then you push it to your repo?
Regards, Mav

I prefer sending you all the stuff so I don't mess up things in your repo.
Are you busy at making airports currently?

I've added some models to my forked repo of PGUA. More work to follow in the next few days.

Great!
Are you able to dedicate some time for some scenery development before the festival?

Oh, well, I'm asking because I'd like to have a bit more improved layout for Kadena AB (RODN) before the Festival since it'll be used by OpRedFlag Crew and currently it has only two default taxiways (just like PGUA before you worked on it. If you can dedicate some spare time before May I'd be glad of it, if you can't well I can try something with the layout in my very little free time regarding scenery dev but I'll need someone who can do the Terragear stuff.
