First there is a FlightGear 3.6 RC
Now that is canceled, and now we have 3.7 and 3.8 (Yes I know what is up with the odds and evens)
And now I hear that is canceled too?

And nightly build?
Nightly?

Like Firefox nightly?
Updated every night

How many different FlightGear versions are there, and why are there SO MANY???

Yes.
We are moving to a new version system.

Year goes first.
Then a number, which is 1 to 4.
Then another number which are bugfix releases.

The nightly development, updated every night, will always be 2016.X.0

Don't worry!
2016.1.1 will come in a week or so.

What happened to 3.6?

The sense they are making is NOT!!!

Too buggy; too busy to release; too bored to make a new release '3.6.1RC'.
