I highly disagree with the way you went about this.

@Lydiot

I am afraid you are missing the pragmatical situation. Where the poll is held is not a major concern for me. The ability to vote in a fair equality for all invoved is.
In Curtis' Forum (which you like to think as "the" forum) not everyone can cast their vote (fairly, anonymously and on equality of conditions). That makes polling for this on Curtis' Forum rather invalid.
Regardless of who organizes or not the Festival, everyone should be having identical options to vote.--I had never said my vote counts twice because of my previous historical involvement with the festival-- and that's my rebutal to your feeling too strong about me saying that such involvement in previous Festivals has been "main" or "important", and your finding of me saying that to be boisterous.

Again, the pragmatical situation is awkward and it needs a solution. TheJabberwocky.net forum provides one of such solution. It is open. And anyone in the community can vote on equality of conditions.

In terms of FG forums, you will find Curtis Forum (which is a main forum [in your mind] because you decide so, but nothing else compels it to be) -- and you will find a few handful of other forums, in English (ie FGUK), in Spanish, in French, in German, even in Russian. Recently, TheJabberwocky.net forum is another FlightGear Forum cattering an special need to become independent of Curtis Olson, who has a very low ethical threshold to his treatment of users. That's all.

What else are you deciding that we'll just be informed about after the fact?

Well, to begin with, I will be deciding myself and informing after the fact, all other obvious stuff pertinent to me

1) What will be my involvement in Spring and Fall 2016?
2) Am I ATCing or Flying?
3) If so, where I would serve? and what times?
4) Am I involving myself in creating an scenery package for the festival?
5) Would I organize a mini-game or several?

Maybe I could put some etc here.

Like to give you an historical perspective. In the Fall 2015 festival I decided to serve Geneve, and told you (all) after the fact. I decided my ATCing schedule and told you (all) after the fact. I decided to create an scenery Package for Geneve. Did so. And told you (all) after the fact.
It's just the bones of the matter.

It should be simple--do a poll here for the "Club of the Banned" members, do a poll at forum.flightgear.org for everyone elses, then do a weighted average.

That kills anonimity
You can easily de-convolve what we voted for if you only allow three votes.
That's unfair

!!Weitghed average!!
That's quite a mathematical treatment for a poll
One clearly non-transparent

Traditionally poll results are sums and frequency histograms. No more data management than that

IAHM-COL - I was apparently misunderstood. What I meant to do was what MIG29pilot just proposed - holding a poll here, as well as one on the main forum, and summing the results (with no weighted average, though) - however, there could be some double-voting, as you mentioned.

Failing that, I think we could hold the vote on a site other than the two forums (as a compromise) - I personally think Lydiot's concerns are valid, not involving the main forum might be seen badly by other contributors - or ask the admins on Curt's forum to lift the bans (at least on the Festival threads).

Really? It's not a major concern of yours but your concern is that everyone can cast their votes..... Would you have had the same opinion about where to host the poll if you were still a member here? That's the problem, isn't it?

Which forum has the most users? How is it more pragmatical to get a bunch of users to register to a new forum rather than hold the vote on the forum with the most users? You're telling me "forum.flightgear.org" isn't really an "official" or "main" forum? On what basis? Because if you don't disagree then I don't see why you bring it up in the first place.

Will it now change? Probably not. Why? Because you made your decision and that makes your question entirely disingenuous.

No. It doesn't change. Because you have not solved the original problem that some of us cannot vote there.
Try harder for a better solution that indeed corrects the original issue, and then that opinion will be heard, and weighted in.

Doubling voting is unadmissible. So doubling polling in Curtis and theJabberwocky is not admissible in my book.
Other forum. Fine with me. Make your choice, and I will register, and suggest others to do so.

I made the suggestion that theJabberwocky.net can serve as such "other forum" here. But if decided that it feels impartial to the community, make or suggest another forum where anyone can really participate.

About lifting the ban. That'll be great. I am not asking myself, but I won't dissuade for a riot poll in his forum calling for action restablishing our abilities to enter the Forum again. (asking directly to King Curt to reconsider a mistake of his have come to zero outcome before)
BUT, I won't compromise on saying I only have voice here but not there. I propose and promote all: Festival, USA tour, Other MP activities, JAFVA, FGMEMBERS, Cooperative aircraft and scenery development, FGDATA with submodules.

My arguments don't change out of fear of King Curt.

Why don't I just start a new forum where E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E can vote?
