For anyone willing to study the Italian FIRs, you can go to the Web site of the Italian VATSIM division and open the links in the section "Italian Airspace".

An important note: the semicircular rule (aircraft flying with a track between 0° and 179° must be at an odd flight level, aircraft flying with a track between 180° and 359° must be at an even flight level) is different in Italy, because the main flight routes are north/southbound! Therefore:
  • aircraft having a track between 270° and 089° (northbound) must fly at an even level;
  • aircraft having a track between 90° and 269° (southbound) must fly at an odd level.

Opposite to SE Asia, i am worried here more about too short distances. I am not looking forward to flights like Verona - Bergamo - Milano - Genova. No, we need some distance like Roma, Napoli and Sicily. Really i hope someone picks up a place in Sicily for some distance to get at cruise level 330.

Kind regards, Vincent

I agree. I don't like flights longer than 500nm.

I am in Genoa, so, well, one, yes, it seems, we have a concentration there between Venice, up to Roma, me in Genoa on the other side of the boot shaft, but not much in some distance?
To supply also longer routes, we would need either someone in Sicily or think about some off-festival airports (maybe Alexandria/Egypt or Malta or Athens) as jump-off points into the festival? Opnions please?

Hey everyone
I thought I had chosen and gotten an airport already? What happened to that? Why isn't it listed anymore?

Kind Regards,
Josh
