The lakes must be added as a new shapefile with qgis, which I dont use .Would you mind? It is only 1 landclass of a small area
Creating racetracks using WED or something similar?

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

Re: Creating racetracks using WED or something similar?
Hi SM
It looks really really really great!
Thanks a lot
I added the airport boundary with the hole, and I am constructing it right now for a proof of concept
I pushed the edited apt.dat plus the earth.wed.xml source file in the repo
(so its easy for you to continue updating): Simply replace the earth.wed.xml file in your WED Custom Scenery folder and open again. You'll get my changes
https://github.com/SH-M/PhilipIslandGPC ... f677c8e2cb
One quick point
Are you sure you added the heliports, in the correct location? Note: there are 2 helipads.
Also, since this has helipads, and its real, we can push to the gateway , and we will be granted the priviledge of creating a fictional icao for it
Any idea, I suggest using Fictional YPID
(I believe it becomes XYPID)

I submitted a request for XYPID in the gateway scenery database
When they create the new ICAO we can go ahead and push the new heliport-racetrack

Re: Creating racetracks using WED or something similar?
I just placed the heliport at that random area since I wanted to export the apt.dat
I will pull the updated one and see.

The v0 data doesn't have the lake
I have fixed it.
Also we should use the OSM landmass which I will push soon.

Woah! Thank you gentlemen!
Can I say, "Like" Like!", "Like!", "Like!" and "Like!"
I can't add enough superlatives, This is going to be interesting.
Can't wait to try out the course with the Ducati.

Re: Creating racetracks using WED or something similar?
Thanks SM
I had tried a couple of tricks too generate the boundary with the whole.
No success,.... (frustated)
The racetrack is looking quite amazing so far... but when I succeed creating the whole in the airport boundary, so the internal shapefiles are used instead of "airports:" landclass, then the taxiways no longer follow the terrain and sink and resurface... which is rather useless.
Will reconstruct with your updated dat. And explore further options to achieve the boundary whole
In the meantime, I pushed a first constructed racetrack to terraGIT
So Lesbof and others can begin experimenting with this.
Starting positions recommended at
https://github.com/SH-M/PhilipIslandGPC ... gPositions
Also, the generated racetrack in terraGIT at
Files are here:

Have fun!
(will keep trying to carve that boundary hole!)
[as always we are pushing the boundaries....]

Re: Creating racetracks using WED or something similar?
Maybe its because you used the v0 data which doesn't have this lake.
