There are no german euros
And no, I'm highly sorry but you don't get a buyer
(laughing)
You mean these yankee dollars? https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/store/m ... 6kgwzx6mhf
Here we go again...
Re: Here we go again...
Oh, and could you have maybe a short look into the terragear build thread and tell me if you have an idea/if something of the failure jumps into your mind?
Re: Here we go again...
LOL
I knew nothing of those Yankee Dollars.
I meant these
What happen to the Euros? Did the Germans go back to a certain Mark?

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

I will.
Usually the fault lies with the crappy terragear.

Okay, so the source code is the problem? thanks
IAHM-COL wrote:What happen to the Euros? Did the Germans go back to a certain Mark?
Some actually would: http://www.welt.de/politik/deutschland/ ... hland.html
Translation of the inroduction text:
welt.de wrote:The anti-euro-party "Alternative for germany" grows fast. But the newcomers want more than going back to the Mark [...]
LOL, no, but I actually meant that there is no german euro because euros are european, only some motives are country-specific
Re: Here we go again...
There is a logic problem in it. There is a bunch of files, all from other authors, distributed under GPL. Now you make something based on those files. Which means, you acknowledged already their work and the license it comes with. You can't just add a file with another license because that would infringe on the licenses of the other files in the package. Copy-left rule applies.
So, all you could do, is making your project standalone. Then the plane is distributed under GPL and your stuff an optional expansion with another license.
Getting back to the installer example: You can write an installer, however, since an installer is supposed to install files from this GPL licensed package, the installer can either reside in the package (and therefore be a part of it, which means once more copy-left) or a stand-alone project with its own license. You argument, it is only data, doesn't count here. Actually, a similar case was already made when the FBI itself got in trouble. They used geographical data combined with data from other sources to build up a data pool. Later, to avoid FOIA requests, they argued, they have the rights on the part of the data and nobody else and what they pulled under GPL was only data that was processed by their software. Well, not even the federal government got through with that (their case was so weak, they settled it before it went to a day in court).
The point here is, you can construct as much as you want, but in reality, as soon as you are logically dependent on anything under GPL, the copy-left rule applies. Look at all those distributions of Linux.

Progress Report
Hi @KL666, @Bomber, and @ALL
As I indicated previosly, here, I am proactively contacting aircraft authors (a.k.a copyright holders) of the License-undeclared aircrafts.
So far, things are going nice and smooth with this situation:
Here is a summary:
This meant that 3 planes moved out of the NON-GPL zone, and are back to their propers location (and now tracked via FGDATA next with submodules as well)
https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/Lamborghini_Murcielago: Commit: 8f7c985
https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/panzer: Commit: f0b7f1
https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/AC130: Commit: 62cf538
The respective NON-GPL temporary repositories are discarded, after the content was cleanly transferred to FGMEMBERS.

Then, I'm emailing the author, and waiting for them to clarify their intentions.
(I wish GPL is the answer).
When the author replies, well... we (I) will honor their stated intentions, as opposed to guess for the best (they want their work to be distributed) or the worst (they want their work to disappear in an aged 6+ years link)
I think the fair here is letting them clarify. (and be proactive towards getting a response)
Best,
IAHM-COL

Both F-4J76 and F-4Jvx4 had been now re-assigned the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license; not temporarily, but permanently, and maintained in FGMEMBERS-NONGPL

Erik Hoffman via email response wrote:[The PC-7] It's still available! I have been searching for it.
As a matter of fact I just yesterday updated the FDM:
http://jsbsim.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewv ... craft/pc7/
(I can send them to you if you wish)
Yes the model is fully GPL v2.0 or later.
Also,
Erik Hoffman via email response wrote:Unfortunately this is not the model by Petar Jedvaj. He did s great job updating the 3d model before he switched to the PC-9M. It would be great if we could find that one again.
Naturally, Erik and I did found pjedvaj better PC7 model, and did as following
1. Corrected the license and transferred the Craft to FGMEMBERS (out of the NON-GPL zone)
https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/pc7: Commit: ffae617ca
2. Implanted the new FDM Erik worked upon with Aeromatic C++
Commit: 963a5e
3. Re-installed the previously lost *(now found)* pjedvaj better 3d models with instruments
Commit: 324a07
and 4. Worked all a good 2 hours cleaning out this job
The plane in FGMEMBERS now flies and is alive (the props needs animation so it looks static, but it flies!!), but needs some additional work.
Erik Hoffman told me he will be continuing from where we left, although he needs some time before jumping into this pilatus.
A plane back to life: we can say.
