Project HongKong

Postby SHM » Tue May 31, 2016 7:52 am

Hi all,

Our newest project on terraGit is well underway.

I have finished work on the custom shapefiles for landmasss, road, and stream. :D

Now work on the other landclasses starts.

The airports are well developed in the xplane gateway
KaiTak is shown in blue but it looks nicely developed. I didn't check if there is room for any developments.

Israel will be doing the work on osm2city ;)

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

I think the layout is pretty good.
It is blue, because it was developed already before they firstly made the map.
(which in most cases means, also the layout has been there since ws 2.0)

Wow... SHM -- you are an amazing developer!
You not only do Narita... but Singapore... and Hong Kong! And all while doing India at the same time!
You deserve a hearty round of applause for such work :D

Hi SM

The landclasses so far worked great :D

Looking forward for the :urban: updates :)
Tomorrow I'm throwing the first attempt to OSM2City update, including all the Territory.
Data looks great. It's much updated, too.

Hi ALL[*]

I just pushed the Objects updates for Hong Kong in terraGIT
(also updated on the Omega Hangar's repository at: https://github.com/FGMEMBERS-SCENERY/VH ... tomScenery)

Code: Select all

git pull
install/HongKong

terraGIT now ships a complete object database for the whole territory of Hong Kong including

  • VHHH Omega's Hangar custom terminal and tower
  • VHXX Radi's HongKong Project custom terminal
  • Several custom Objects from terrasync (specifically some buildings are great)
  • a New fps performace optimezed OSM2CIty compilation that includes all new and very complete data until June 2016,
  • OSM2City is extended to the complete Hong Kong territory
  • Radi's special HongKong OSM2City textures

Work on Landclasses is still missing, but some preliminary tests had shown that roads and railroad worked magnifically.

A few screenshots:
