I saw Vincent Video.
Outstanding!!

It remind me of the JAFVA flight I once completed. A CRJ200 to Pamplona. That airport is super beautiful, and the charted approach also calls for some neck breaking turn for final.

I made it "hot and fast" (I guess those landings are normal for me )... but I got enough tire-groves to get that plane stopped before the rwy was over...

A visit to Pamplona is a "100% recommended" action

A view of the JAFVA24 landing, pilot, IH-COL, aircraft CRJ200. Landing as charted.

legoboyvdlp wrote:GS? Well, really, it was supposed to be visual, and rwy 19 is a fair turn. Maybe you are thinking of rwy 15?

If you pm too much with treacherous smurfs, you get infected by their ugly traits. So you are making me out for a liar now? You say i do not know rw 15 from rw 19? You question the word g/s? And that is your proof i am lying? Well let me inform you, i always use a mental g/s. That is why i land correctly without automation, and you do not.

Yes Pamplona from the south is lovely, g/s at an angle through the mountains from the southwest, and then turn in for the landing. Nicely executed too Israel. Just a bit early touchdown.

Kind regards, Vincent

To be fair, when vincent said G/S I also thought!

Code: Select all

mmm... "glideslope...?" ... maybe not River Visual 19,

but then if you think about it, there isn't a Localizer in DCA for neither RWY 15 nor RWY 19.

That help me clarifying what Vincent meant was mentally, not quite a localizer.

I know that Reagan is not as hardcore as Innsbruck. But certainly it has its quirks.
Specifically, Rwys are short, then you have forbidden airspace everywhere, then you have this Visual (not -loc -guided approaches) if you are coming southbound. And then precisely the White House and pentagon NOTAMS are just right on your nose.
To put the final cherry on such cake, the landing comes with a last minute turn.

It all adds up. :)

In the tour last weekend, I missed my "serious approach" then went around.
On the second time, I decided to fly right over the white house.
I betcha that's not a well-taken maneuver if done in RL.

Coming above the White House puts you straight RWY 19 -- which we used. And I avoided the crazy last -min turn required by local restrictions.

I think that's the "exercise"/"challenge" lego proposed.

What is good? That you pm too much with treacherous smurfs for your own mental health?

I do understand the charts perfectly well, and said i executed it, and found it rather easy by my flying standards. There is no reason for Lego to call me a lyar without any proof. These practices can nicely be left to that other forum.

Kind regards, Vincent
