If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

I am actually starting to prefer it for its complicity. its no longer "Push-A-Button-And-Magically-Start-Your-Aircraft." I personally think that its more realistic than FG can ever be, even with the most complicated aircraft we have there, X-Planes most basic jet is harder to start than that. And you guys all know that I only fly quality aircraft. No MD-11 yet in the sim so I'm kinda sad. Otherwise its doing a ballerific job on being challenging.

My MD-11 can be manual started, and my MD-80s and MD-90 will soon be able to.

And I'm sorry, but you are wrong. All default planes and freeware are way less complex than a good FGAircraft. Even my MD-80 is much more complex system wise.

This thread wa designed for FGFS...

His problem is he is on a Mac. Which doesn't include native joystick drivers. Macs are awful for gaming/simulation.

@Josh

I think Falcon reffers to forced realism. (Falcon wrote "complicity", he meant "complexity")
Like the Tu154b,. which you cannot start by any magic button, and you MUST follow the starting proccedures or the plane will remain cold and dark.

Like really simulating the aircraft.
Imagine you sit on a real MD-11 at some training airport somewhere; where is the "autostart" button in the real deal?

There aint' any!

Despite the fact the you bot absolutely HATE my OS, Israel is correct. I prefer the forced complexity. Your MD 11 just dose not have it.

Hold the S key. Tu154 starts up :D

The MD-11 *will* have it. When it is finished.

And X-Plane has an autostart that works on every plane. Same with FSX, except complex planes like PMDG, LevelD, etc.

Different people use the sim for different purposes. Some like systems and use it as an aircraft simulator. I like flying and use it as flight simulator. Therefore in the ideal situation both start options are available.

Btw, i heard that there are even people that use the sim as a car and motorcycle simulator :-)

Kind regards, Vincent

Yea. I use it for just flying, and I am enjoying developing. If I want to simulate reality, I fly PMDG etc planes.
