I have no idea what to choose yet. So for now i try reduce the amount of choices by eliminating the least likely locations i would choose.

In Europe:
- BeNeLux is way too small. It is just the size of England within the UK (half height of the UK). On the longest leg you can not make a cruise alt above fl 300.
- In Spain we have already had a festival. I would like to go to some other place for a change.
- Leaves me three choices for now.

In the rest of the world:
- New Guinea has very little large airports. The mountain airfields would be great for a Twotter festival, but not very interesting for jetliners.
- US East coast is boringly flat to me.
- India or South East Asia may be nice for a change, but overall reasonably flat (specifically India). Not sure about these locations yet.
- My most likely choice will be a mountainous area, like Caucasus or the North and South American mountain ridge (US West Coast, Central America or South American Andes).

All in all, i have to think of a lot more arguments to eliminate more locations until i have one left over for each poll.

Kind regards, Vincent

Looks like I should really finish LIPX now... (The new apron layout is already done and I'm adding X-Plane textures to selected parts of the taxiways; I've already got another contributor willing to perform 3D modeling, and I've started learning it as well).

Looks like I should really finish LIPA now... (2D is 90% done, need someone for an outstanding conversion with TerraGear and then I'll start 3D with the help of Catalanoic for some 3D works if he can).

Since it is pretty much clear now that the Fall festival will be held in Italy (and because I probably won't have much time during the next two weeks, as I'll mostly be away on two work trips):

I will be controlling my home base, LIPX.

The airfield was built during the First World War to serve as a base for military operations. Civilian service was started in the early 1910s (mainly with charter/touristic flights); however, it did not see much development until the 1970s, when a first passenger terminal was built. The airport was then expanded in 1990; a second terminal was opened in 2006 to cope with the growing traffic.

Today. the airport handles about 17000 flights (mainly charter flights and summer routes) and one and a half million passengers per year. Its location (just south of the Alps) makes it an ideal starting point for flights to Northern European destinations (e.g. EDDF or LKPR, which are regularly covered by ATC services). The field is suitable for all aircraft types (general aviation, commercial aviation and military flights).

The field is also a bit challenging: as any regular flyer there will probably know, approaches and departures from/to the North require a couple of tight turns and/or a steep ascent/descent rate . Moreover, it can get really foggy in the Fall/Winter, to the point that the airport was equipped with a fog dispersal device, and 150/100 m RVRs aren't unheard of.

As most of you will probably know, I've been working (on and off) on some custom scenery, which you can find here (choose the "Releases" link to get the prebuilt version, or get the latest test build from here (198 MB!)). I will be adding most (if not all) X-Plane buildings and AI info over the next two/three weekends, release a new version on GitHub and on the Scenery Gateway, then start adding objects/ground signs and modeling the 3D buildings (Catalanoic has already offered his help; furthermore, a regular flyer has sent me a preliminary version of the hangar).

Almost all layouts appear to be completed, only few remains. We can make it 100% before the festival :D

Awesome!
If you recommend me and airport to control, I'd appreciate! I prefer larger fields.

Thanks
J
