The Festival Song Themes
Re: The Festival Song Themes
The old dancer in me always picks the waltz first ... hum-di-dum hum-di-dum hum-di-dum one-two-three ...
Free speech can never be achieved by dictatorial measures!

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

Re: The Festival Song Themes
You have to love Eliana's carbon Alphorn, it collapses.
Which makes one wonder if you could make a Slide Aplhorn. I can imagine hearing 'Auld Lang Syne' played on a Slide Alphorn in the dells above Sion.
Which of course would then bother the traditionalist Swiss Aplhorn groups.

Re: The Festival Song Themes
As the Festival Approaches, I had already selected the "OFFICIAL" spring festival Japan 2016 SONG THEME
It is quite a great piece composed in the XX century by a very infamous Japanese Composer.
Another hint? Reminds us of Ravel
Best,
IH-COL

Re: The Festival Song Themes
Is it "Turning Japanese" by the Vapors?
Re: The Festival Song Themes
No. The Vapors are a British Band (google says)... so they aren't "a Japanese Composer"
Now, I'll have to see where to listen at them to figure out how do they remind you of Ravel (Maurice)

Spring 2016 FG Festival's Official Theme
Rashomon's Theme, composed by Fumio Hayasaka
:copyright: Akira Kurosawa and Fumio Hayasaka, 1950. License: Public Domain.
Very on topic with the current FG situation, living through an exemplary Rashomon Effect.
In the image, an screenshot of the legendary Movie "Rashomon" by Akira Kurosawa (1950) you can see depicted the bandit Rashomon (read IH-COL) fighting the Samurai (read Thorsten) in a battle, perhaps, for the honor.
