The End of Free Speech? Turn to the Community.
Re: The End of Free Speech? Turn to the Community.
Any chance of me having a conversation with someone, without you pulling the conversation into your personal vendetta, Bomber?

Re: The End of Free Speech? Turn to the Community.
In this very topic...
You didn't object to SkyBoats idea that this forum was a meritocracy when he was making out you're more deserving than me.

@bomber;==bomber==: Straighten up and fly right. Get off the fence and be a moderator that for one, respects Vincent. Let me put this to you very clearly—You are the one who is on the hook to earn his respect because he has paid his dues a thousand times over when it comes to this forum.
Re: The End of Free Speech? Turn to the Community.
Sorry, i do not see any meritocracy in what you quote. There is just a difference in someone who constantly seeks conflict, and someone else who does not.

Re: The End of Free Speech? Turn to the Community.
Interesting resume. Seems, someone bounced a whole life around Autocad but never got really promoted. Which makes me think, a lot, that giving Bomber the opportunity to see the other side of the fence and maybe widen his horizon a little bit, is a failed experiment. Of course, I can't know, if he was never promoted into leadership positions has to do with his attitude to jump on everybody. Well, anyway, since Bomber seemed to be so determined not to use this opportunity for the community but only for abuse and self-aggrandizing, I am seriously thinking to pull the plug on that experiment.
Free speech can never be achieved by dictatorial measures!

If you are going to continue to act immature here then leave. We do not want your kind here.
Hi Falcon,
First off, STOP with this behavior towards Simon. He is much older than you, show some Respect!
With respect to experience :
You really should have done some Homework before you went on with your ranting. Simon has been here in the flightgear communtity for about 10 years now. He has developed many of the FDMs, founded T4T and so on. You will also find some of Bombers's FDMs in Outerra. The FDMs he has developed are not simple flyable ones, but high quality ones. So, how can some one without any experience, develop these FDMs ?
He is well qualified by the work he has done over the years, rather than your so said "14 years"
And also he surpasses the "14 year mark" if that makes you any happy.
Now you could go and say, I have flown this much years on the virtual world. I have heard that a lot, just to see them fail for some simple tasks so that doesn't work with me. Instead I challenge you to spawn on FG-MP and go through some challenges (I don't have X-Plane, but only P3d. And for these challenges I need you to come on FG-MP, I don't have the necessary technical know-how to do it on VATSIM.)
Now to the fact that SImon ain't leaving anytime soon :
As I said above, Simon had contributed much more to FG, than you ever did.
What about you? Have you contributed any code to FG?
Instead you post some X-Plane screenshots from time to time, and come here to become a keyboard warrior in topics like this. Your profile shows that clearly.
So, i'd have Simon here anyday over you! and enjoy flying his planes rather than reading through your rants.

Hi Falcon,
So, I joined one day after you. What difference does that make?
Stop changing the topic. You asked Simon to leave the forum, and I responded telling that Simon is much involved in Flightgear development than you are by showing a screenshot of your most active topic.
Also you told Simon had not much experience like you, but I proved that he had much more experience than you!
So, stop twisting. Admit that you were wrong.
What happened at Curt's forum? Did we show respect to the Administrative team there? No!
Explain to me your logic here for constantly defending the joke and then maybe I will consider apologizing to the bastard. Until then, do us both a favor, and stay out of the issues that you are not apart of. Your mental health will thank you for it in the long run.
Well somebody here doesn't like him being disproved! Grow up bruh.
I don't think Simon deserves to be treated with the abuse you throw at him. So, I will be defending him.
He has been defending the 'FGMembers' at Curt's forum for a long time, even after lots of bans. So, I know for a fact he just challenges the wrongful things.
And can I ask you one thing? Are you part of this issue to ask me to gtfo?
Secondly Hayden. Simon has a name, you either call him that or his forum handle 'Bomber'. Not names that you get constantly called at by others on a daily basis.
Now read what Israel said a few posts before:
IAHM-COL wrote:First of all, Bomber has not even been moderated on this board for anything at all. Not even a single one time.
Bomber and Vincent had clashes on this very same thread. Many people on this board had had clashes in the past, so nothing new under the sun.
We can see this as Bomber challenging authority. But 1) Challenging of authority is what made this forum in the first place. 2) Per our forum methods, Moderation does not spontaneously happen, and therefore, Vincent has been acting on "normal user" mode here. Not in category of Moderator. In fact clearly instead of Moderating, Vincent had been unmoderating this discussion with the goal of bringing some problems on the fore-front.
I can see why JWocky jumped harsh to defend Vincent. But unfortunately it was 1) uncalled for [Vincent never asked moderation to be taken place] and 2) utterly an excess, and 3) Unilaterally decided.
Now JWocky. Let me remind you of something a bit of an irony here.
Bomber is exactly in your sit.
Look. I was banned from Curtis' Forum because I dared to challenge authority (as Lydiot did to you here). Then you put yourself in the line of fire, and defended me very strongly, just as bomber had defended Lydiot in this thread. And as a consequence you were banned off Curtis' forum just because you've done what you considered loyal, friendly, and ultimately right.
I hated Curtis' for that, and I'd hate seeing my friend repeating such misdemeanor.

In fact clearly instead of Moderating, Vincent had been unmoderating this discussion with the goal of bringing some problems on the fore-front.
So if Vincent has been acting as an ordinary user as Israel would want us to think, why is their a demand on me or anyone else to treat him any different to a normal user ?
Why does he expect to be treated any different ?
and is that expectation an abuse of his moderator privileges ?
I've explained that it's sometime difficult for people to know if a user is posting as an ordinary user or in their capacity as owner/moderator, and that causes confusion and from this situations like this do arise. I stuck to this belief and had a separate account made for when I'm posting as a moderator. Rather than this be accepted by the admin team Vincent questioned my mental health, citing I had multiple personalities. I reported this post to the admin team after which Vincent then made it publicly known. He could only know I'd reported is through his role as moderator yet we're told when he mad eit know on the main forum posting as a normal user.. surely that's a misuse of privileges ?
I've only ever had one argument here on FGMembers... this one with Vincent and then J-wocky and it's a very simple argument... I stated.
"A moderator should not instigate an argument on this forum"
Think about it... if there's no argument taking place, why would a moderator do that ?, How does starting an argument make this a better forum ?
Vincent started a topic to address name calling on this forum... over the last 4 weeks I've been called far more names that he has ever been called. We're to believe that Vincent started the topic as an ordinary user, but later in the debate we find out that he's actually just finished moderating Lydiot and J-wocky after jwocky reported Lydiot for being too argumentative/trolling. There's clearly knowledge that Vincent has, that he could only have gained as a moderator, there's clearly 'bad blood' that he's gained from having had to moderate Lydiot and not been happy with his response. Yet we're to believe that he starts the topic posting as a normal user. A post that goads Lydiot into an argument by directly quoting him such that he was left with no alternative but to post and state his position, which is then used against him as he's accused of trolling.
I'm quite happy to accept the authority of owner and moderator, to respect the work they have to perform...
But when it becomes ambiguous, when as a reader you can't be sure in just what capacity the posters writes in, then I'm not happy.
BUT WHO AM I, TO SAY OBJECT ?
I'm just a normal poster, so why all this grief if I'm just replying to another ordinary poster I have to ask ?
One more thing.... A couple of posts back J-wocky posted.. ask yourself as you read it, is this a normal user wanting a mutually respectful relationship or an owner making ultimatums ?
Regards
Simon
