The FACCT, First Round

Postby IAHM-COL » Sat Apr 01, 2017 8:55 am

Hi ALL, and more specifically competitors

The FACCT I (2017), first round is scheduled for April 8th.
Keep that in mind and your schedules marked. And be ready...

Review that you are able to connect to FICS, and issue as well and accept games online.
This post may give you some help, feel free to ask questions there.

*************

The White player is expected to issue the match challenge indicated in the Game pairings below.
(The Black player can alternatively do it, by changing the command correctly --> w (or White) becomes b (or Black), to indicate that you intend playing Black instead).
Note that all the following is a must: 1) game must be played at the specified time by the specified people. 2) Player must play assigned color pieces, 3) games must be rated, 4) Time control must be as indicated.

********

Notes

1. if Black issues, just changes White for Black in the command, Example

18:00 UTC: Keith (W) -- (B) IAHMCOL
IAHMCOL issues:

Code: Select all

match Keith rated 60 60 Black

2. you can use the follow command to watch a game (or follow a player in all their games), example

Code: Select all

follow SHM

Will let you watch SHM game.
(make sure you do not have an scheduled game at the same time, otherwise I strongly encourage you to watch such game with time deferred. The games will be posted after the tournament round ends)

3. Brief command. Fics accepts short versions that look like this

Code: Select all

match IAHMCOL r 5 12 w

First Round Completed :D

The games can be viewed here

https://github.com/IAHM-COL/FACCT/blob/master/Blitz.pgn
The file for the blitz games is added

SM disclaimed he could not play the Standard Tour for schedule reasons. JWocky takes the leave point. Keith did not show up. I am willing to give him a chance to contact me and schedule a time to complete the game before I assign me the leave point :D
(That's why there's no database for the Standard)

Blitz Games results

Code: Select all

Omega (W) - (B) Jwocky 0-1
IAHMCOL (W) - (B) Omega 0-1
IAHMCOL (W) - (B) JWocky 1-0

Scores

Code: Select all

IAHMCOL Comment:
I really admire 13... Ne3+!

Code: Select all

Omega Comment:
15. g3(?) -- blunts the Bh4

IAHMCOL Comment:

28... Nf7(?) (Alternatively 28... Qxc8)
32. Rc1(??) {Blunts the Queen, again??)

IAHMCOL - JWocky (JWocky Resigns)

Code: Select all

IAHMCOL and JWocky both comment:
13... Qd6 (??) {Wait, what? how does that protect Queen from both Bf4 and Qd1 ??}

IAHMCOL comments
18... Nxe8(!?) {I suggests, 18...Rxe8!, skewering the Qe7. Nothing can protect now Rxe7 on the following move, and making an about even field,
also if 19. Qxe8+, then 19... Nxe8, making also an even field}
