I started my Fly By Wire System. The first realistic Airbus FBW for FlightGear. (as far as I know). Work in Progress.

Aircraft is flown by the pid-controllers, but the joystick commands them. For testing, I have basically simulated 4 laws and 3 modes:
NORMAL law: roll and pitch sent to pid-controllers, then to surfaces. 30 degrees maximum bank, unlesss sidestick input is past halfway, then it's 65 degrees. Pitch minimum is -15 degrees, maximum 30 degrees. Autotrim functional.
ALTERNATE law: roll and pitch sent to pid-controllers, then to surfaces. No bank or pitch protection. Autotrim functional.
DIRECT law: roll and pitch go right so surfaces right away! No bank or pitch protection. Autotrim disabled.
BACKUP law: roll and pitch from sidestick disabled, use rudder for lateral, pitch trim for vertical. No bank or pitch protection. Autotrim disabled. Ailerons and Elevators neutral.

Modes:
FBW mode: follows FBW laws from above
AP mode: uses DIRECT law, damping/limits done by IT-AUTOFLIGHT System. Joystick disabled.
FLARE mode: Active 50ft from ground: Pitch in DIRECT law, Roll in NORMAL law, Autotrim disabled.

I will further simulate it at a later point in time, when FBW flies stable. You can switch modes via the A340-600VIP menu.

Only the A340-600VIP workshop has it right now, because it is unstable! It needs testing, and ALOT of testing, and more fixes. If you could try, I would appreciate!
NOTE that it is UNSTABLE! It works -- well enough to fly.

Much better PFD, model from A330_artix_dev, code all rewritten:
Image

I have a flashing LVR CLB implemented, full map to ITAF

Thrust System has been updated, if the A/THR light is on, pulling the throttles back out of CL, shows THR LVR, and reduces the amount of thrust A/THR is allowed to use -- like a real Airbus. when set IDLE, A/THR goes fully off.
MAN MCT and MAN TOGA implemented. MAN FLEX will come later.
You can also reduce individual engine's thrust allowance A/THR.

With A/THR off, thrust is set manually from 0 (idle) to the cl limit at cl detent, but A/THR doesn't go on until it's armed (MAN MCT or TOGA) or the A/T button is pushed on either the IT-AUTOFLIGHT GUI or the MCP panel.

Also the A/THR light turns BLUE when A/THR is armed!

Best,
Josh

OK I know it's been absolutely ages, but here is an update:
* Improved: MCP in Flightdeck from A320Family
* Upgraded: A3XX FADEC System from A320Family
* Fixed: Spoiler arm lever not working until 2 clicks
* Fixed: Callouts, Retard, 10 5ft
* Fixed: Various other little things
* Upgraded: Newest IT-AUTOFLIGHT installed, now eligible for automatic updates.
* Improved: New Autopilot tuning Configuration
* Removed: IT-FBW (A340-600VIP ONLY, see below)
* Upgraded: New PFD from A320Family

I just pushed them to the A340-600VIP, and will be backporting my changes to the other A340s within the next hour or so.

Again available on FGMEMBERS or on it0uchpods repo: http://www.github.com/it0uchpods/

FBW:
Not possible with Yasim, this is due to many things which I don't want to type out right now (if you want to know, say so)
So I removed it from the -600VIP and will not be developing that version again.
I may try to make a system which mimicks FBW, but it will never be a real FBW system unless I convert the A340s all to JSBsim, which wouldn't happen for ages, since I have enough projects at the moment.

Kind Regards,
Josh
