I am right-handed, but use the left hand for flying with the joystick.

I do that with the MD-11 and A3XX.

After training left hand steering in the week before the sim session, i am pretty used to it now. I'll keep the stick left now. This way i can use the mouse (on the right) to click things, while flying manually.

Kind regards, Vincent

Thanks a lot Vincent for the video! Really impressive!
I'm left-handed but using a joystick and being more of a fighter pilot means that I'm completely right-handed in flight simulation and I doubt I could cope with inverting all suddenly even with a lot of training beforehand.
I think I should try to search for some places over here with sims and see if it's possible to give it a try and see what comes out. I've already had an experience while visiting a flight school where I tried their sims but it was around 4 years ago and I was still a newbie even in FG so... ;)
Thanks again Vincent!
Cheers, Mav

Hi Mav,

Nice that you liked it. If you look for a simulator, try to find out the quality. There are many with game fdm's. e.g. i am told that one in Berlin has a plain msfs fdm. If you can find out it has a more "professional" fdm, that would be better for a true experience.

It is unclear which fdm i had. I was told it was "professional" and a 777 pilot who had also done 737-800 was satisfied with the fdm. So i suppose it was not msfs :-)

Kind regards, Vincent

Could be X-Plane? Aside from consumer software, they also do certified flight simulators for airlines and large customers.

There's also Prepar3D, from Lockheed Martin, which used a highly tweaked (and probably much more realistic FDM) of MSFS.

I do not think x-plane. I did the 15 minute trial and prolonged it endless on autopilot (the trial quits the stick after 15 minutes). There i noticed that x-plane goes crazy on a bit of turbulence. And i did not notice that crazy behaviour on a bit of turbulence in the simulator.

Kind regards, Vincent

It's very likely that this is P3D running prosim737. The hardware is supplied by MOOG.

Hi Omega,

There is a good chance.

1) I do not know p3d
2) If it can satisfy a pilot, it could be p3d

Kind regards, Vincent
