Some more continents have been completely rated now.
- Europe
- Asia
- Africa
The Siberia area is quite well represented at the immersive level. The mostly dirt paved airstrips have the romantic atmosphere of the cowboys landing their rugged TU-154's and heavy cargo planes there in the old soviet era.

Re: KL-666's Map of developed Airports
Hi SHM,
I am not quite sure what you want to say with these plots of raw data on a map. It really does not tell me anything i would like to know. As a matter of fact, i have this data, but i never contemplated to dump it on a map like this.
You see, there is a difference between data and information. Data is just just raw material, which can be the base of meaningful information. But just as is, data is not information. I set out wanting to know which airports have buildings. Therefore i use exactly the same data you show plotted on these maps here, to generate meaningful information for me. That is the map of airports with buildings.
But again, what you want to say with these meaningless data plots is a mystery to me.
Kind regards, Vincent

Re: KL-666's Map of developed Airports
I interpret that map as :
Most objects placed in the FG world are Re-placement of Shared models.
This is not surprise to me either. Those shared model include per example, pylons, ILS models and other Navaids, recursively/automatically placed, among others, and for this, clearly, as KL666 points out, provides little information as to the extent of development of any area. In contrast the static models are a better/more accurate reflection of scenery development. Now, onto the size of those maps, resolutions is too poor, and can't be zoomed in.
Best,
IH-COL

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

Re: KL-666's Map of developed Airports
Ok SHM, now i understand what you meant to show.
I have looked at many airports data lately, and found that:
1) Static models are being reused a lot at other airports. The database does not seem to enforce single use of static models.
2) Several people who make an airport-specific model register it as shared.
So distinguishing between static and shared models, does not tell much about whether there are many airport/location-specific models at a certain place on earth. Or did you want to show another interpretation with these statistics?
Kind regards, Vincent

No it doesn't. It wasn't meant to replace your map but just gives a global coverage of which place is lacking static objects (which are the real-life like objects).
All other continents seem to be not accurate without them.
The shared objects include ILS antennas, VORs.. Etc So they don't represent much, but static objects give an idea of the scenery development.
For example I could look and say, ok India seems to be deserted, time to make some objects there.

Yes you are right SHM. Something sensible can be said about what is not there. But about what is there, not much sense can be made of.
