I looked at Github for the Fokker D.VII and can't find it. Did I get the name wrong?

Patience my pretties..

I'm going through it and the HP-O/400 with a fine toothed comb for dependencies and other Unix triggering annoyances. ;)

Hey, log me in! This sounds like a lot of fun. I'm looking for that list, Lester. I'd like to fly something multi-engined.

And here's the HP-O/400 this is the big, British heavy twin engine bomber that served from February 1917 to the end of the war.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/s551jwjk5uw65u1/HP-O-400.zip

Flight Notes! It's got a pretty severe AoA to the main wings while taxiing and in headwinds, with it's tail skid down.

It wants to 'rock' side to side if the wind is over 10 knots. "ALWAYS" point this beast into the wind before pouring the coal to it.

There is very little tail surface authority with it tail skid down, and you need to let it gain about 25~35 knots forward air speed and give the elevator some furtive down input to pop the tail up. Don't go slamming to full down or it will fully stall the horizontal tail surfaces. Give it little finesse and let it rotate moderately It will need a bit of up elevator once on the mains let it climb on its wing not the prop it weighs over 9000 lbs unloaded.

Landing is the same, let it bleed off speed while preparing your final. Keep slowly adding in up-trim so it's touching down at about 50 knots with the nose up @ 4 degrees.

Another old WWI era bomber: the Vickers Vimy actually didn't serve as I believe it was released a little too late to the end of WWI.

It's a good include and it's a little less fussy about takeoffs.

I''ve done some FDM adjustments to Helijah's Caproni CA3. it ground steers now. and the engines have a slower idle.

Is anyone interested in the Gotha G.V?

Quick rundown on the route:

Starting at Albert-Bray LFAQ, and climb out to whatever VFR ceiling we get to work with considering the predicted cloudiness. We make a heading @ about 117 to Peronne LFAG, then turn right to about heading 206 to Compiegne LFAD, then left to about 97 for Soissons-Courmels LFJS, and a slight correction to the right for Reims-Champagne LFSR, another big turn South @ 197 to Chalon-Vatry LFOK, ( We might consider a break there or at Reims..?) then big turn to East @ 88 for Bar le Duc Haut Chees LFEU, then a turn to the right @ 138 heading SE for Ochey, LFSO, then a turn for the last leg @ 63 to Nancy Malzeville. Accept that these headings are approximate, considering our snail's pace they could be quite different. I've had 3 different wind directions on my last run of this route.

Big operations note about Nancy Malzeville: The runways are weirdly inclined on two approaches. If we have SE winds again ( @ 150 it's runway 15 I believe..) this will be the most challenging runway there. As it climbs initially, then levels for about 300' then sharply drops off. The trick is to get your kites down slow and early on the upward sloping part, and let them bleed off speed and drop onto their tailskid against the incline. Honestly, trying to safely plant a landing with a HP O/400 on that postage stamp sized level section is a guaranteed go around, unless you want to jam on your brakes and nose over. This will be exceptionally fun for those watching.

I'm gonna bring popcorn!

@Lester-- I'm going to be flying the HP O/400 and my landing experience on a level runway was entertaining. Bring two big bowls of popcorn. Extra butter.

I'm heading up for a flyabout on the route, starting at LFAQ if anyone wants to join me.
