Anyway you've convinced me that my thoughts on this were wrong....so I'll archive this flight model and redo it with rotation around the CoG. Before I do so though I'll work out the FCS to take the workload off the pilot.

what a dumb ase !

When I did the fixed wing plane I added procession last, as it was just an inconvenience to the pilot but not a big deal.... Having just watched the 'getting smarter everyday' youtube series on helicopters, seems procession is not something to be added at the end but is rather fundamental.

If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it?

I think the assumption that COG is a point where forces can be summed on the object, seems reasonable to me. This implying mass and inertia effects, including rotation get applied there: regardless of how much wings are fixed or rotating.
So curious to see actual code progress. Maybe crash some of this work in the FG ground.

Before I do so though I'll work out the FCS to take the workload off the pilot.

Me, lost again in translation, but irrelevant here.

Also do bare in mind that this is the beast I'm flight modeling...

The question that comes to mind, when I saw that fictional design, is: Does that actually fly somewhere outside J. Cameron mind?
(ie, if you build it on the physical world, are you up for the ride of your life, or are you up for the last ride of your life??)

Part of the point of the exercise... would it fly, how would it perform ?

It may be fictional, but then again so was the Spitfire once... just a drawing on a board.

Also doesn't mean I can't learn from doing it... and apply this to a non-fictional helicopter
