Re: Treasure Hunting Tour: 12/09/2023 @1830 UTC [MMGL - MMSM]

Postby IAHM-COL » Wed Nov 29, 2023 8:09 pm

Hi Airmen,

On 12/2 we have a skip weekend.

On 12/9 we will meet in Guadalajara's MMGL and travel to Mexico City MMSM, departing at 18:30 UTC. We will again use multi-engine propeller aircraft. We expect cruising at 16500 ft, at or around 210 KIAS.

General Felipe Angeles (MMSM) is the newest international airport serving Mexico City. In case that your scenery package does not support this new airport, pilots are welcome to divert to the older Benito Juarez (MMMX), on arrival. terraGIT has been updated to support the new airport.

Hi Airmen,

We skip 12/16.

We will meet again on 12/23, 17:30 UTC for the Christmas Event! Treasure Hunting Tour Edition.

We will depart Gral Felipe Angeles Airport (MMSM) and travel to Veracruz International Airport (MMVR), flying multiple engine propellers.

During the route we will overfly Pico de Orizaba, one of the tallest Volcanos of the world, and therefore, we will expect a cruising of 19500ft or higher, to clear the 18200 peak. Soon after, we descend to land in the Heroica Veracruz Area.

We expect around 200 KIAS.

The skyvector here linked displays the proposed route.

Let's continue the Treasure Hunting Tour. Departing Cartagena (SKCG), a Treasure-Certified City, we continue the Andean Leg moving south, in Business Jets, Towards The New Mariscal Quito Airport (SEQM). Beware the difficulties on the approach!!

We will fly a little low, to get views of the Andean mountains, expecting FL240 @ 0.78 Ma.
