Coffee
The answer to everything is.... COFFEE
Now, now.
I like Starbucks.
But you know what?
I'm perfectly fine with a Maxwell House instant coffee, black, with a spoon of sugar.
It tastes good.
Compared to Cafe Madrid, the Venezuelan Coffee. Black rubbish.
But you know something?
Maxwell House, though cheap, tastes loads better than a COSTO espresso I had a couple of months back.
Flavour. Black. Strength.
How do you like your coffee?

Re: Coffee
Now, I enjoy good food.
I don't go for fancy stuff, like cooscoos, or caivar, or octopus.
What I like is simple food, which looks tasty, and tastes good (no vinegar, please).
As far as I'm concerned, you can have your $100 /lb St Helena and I'll enjoy my Maxwell House.
I' not a fan of hazelnut and soy milk wih no cream st helena espressos with roasted unicorn shavings coated in truffle sauce.
I just like a nice, strong, espresso, with a spoon of sugar, and maybe some cinnamon or chocolate powder for decoration.
Enjoy your $5000 Fleur Burger 5000 burger with foie grase or $12,000 pizza Luis XIII Salerno A Renato.
I'll have a homemade burger with chips and plenty of onions, (onions, sauce, and meat in a bun) or a homemade pizza Hawaiann.
With a Maxwell House homemade Espresso

Re: Coffee
Ich mach mir meinen Eiskaffee selbst, jeden Sommer. Kalter gesüßter Kaffee, Vanilleeis, Schokoladenstreussel, fertig ist die Laube!
I once went into a Starbucks in an urgent need for coffee ... this guy started to list me all kinds of coffee, with hazelnut flavor, chocolate flavor, decaf, half-calories, vanilla taste and whatnot ... so I asked him whther they have a simple honest to got cup of Joe for me. The man looked at me as if I would be some kind of disgusting insect, but at least, after a little thinking, he found me a coffee that actually tasted like coffee and not something else.
Personally I have my little blend from not so hard burned Domenican Republic and Kenya robusta beans with just a dash or Arabica from actually Arabia. Yeah, when it comes to coffee, I am definitively a snob!

Re: Coffee
Coffee is not my cup of tea. Tea is, Earl Grey, Orange Pekoe, or English breakfast being preferable.
P.S. Without milk

Re: Coffee
I like my coffee freshly ground, black, strong, and on the bitter side of things. Some sugar would certainly help with taste but I have no problem taking it without any sugar at all.
I prefer our local Bornean coffee, and also Javanese coffee. I like arabica too. We have easy access to 'Kopi Luwak' or civet coffee inexpensively too. "Fox Sh*t Coffee" we call it. They are all good, but why pay for those when the local Bornean coffee is as good but cheaper..
I once tried one of those weird imported coffee pack things, and they taste like black water. It's lost its aroma like 10 years ago. Never again.
Starbucks is not for me; they're overpriced, and taste nothing like coffee but the environment for drinking in is nice I'll give that.
P.S. fun fact, I started drinking coffee at about 4 years old. We all did. In kindergarten, they regularly brought in drinks for us kids. One was a chocolate malt Milo, and the other is our local coffee. Guess which one I regularly lined up for? And we're bouncing off the walls in class after that.

Re: Coffee
Ugh, real tea.
I do have an affection for fruity teas, and ginger tea.
@Hijan, lol, expensive fox s*** coffee at like 160 dollars a pound.
True. I love their sandwiches, especially the Bacon Butty found in the UK.
I make myself an Eiskaffee every summer.... cold sweet coffee, vanilla icecream, chocolate pastry, the arbor is ready!
So true.

We're getting it at maybe a fraction of that. Or even less. Can't remember. Still expensive compared to what we have locally.

I like my pizza with pepperonis and I never gave much thought to burgers... coffee is interesting because for people they either drink coffee or they don't..
