Never realized that boeing does winglets on their larger aircraft. I thought they were all into the flat pointy wingtips there.

I believe those winglets are third party, approved by Boeing, if not mistaken. All this fuel efficient moves, even the A320s have them.. (which is odd because I recall Aribus says that the A320s' wings cannot handle the extra weight for the winglets on the A320. Perhaps either they came up with a winglet that is lightweight, or they found it doesn't make much difference, or they just 'winged it'. Geddit? Wing? )

Yes @KL-666 its a Retrofit option, Air New Zealand took 6 of them

HJ1an, A320's have Wing Fences (like K shape) or Sharklets (like Boeing 737 MAX style).
Newer 320s with sharks, older ones with fences.

Same thing, just named differently. Marketing speak.

The 737 MAX is like the Airbus' original "wingtip fences" but taller and angled outwards, and they are calling it "swallowtail". I will still call it winglets, it's the easiest and most recognisable, no matter what. Why complicate matters?

Aye, the MAX winglets are a similar shape, but much larger -- more like the Sharklets in size, I believe.
